DELIGHTFUL DAISY DSP MAKE AND TAKE CARD!

This next card I made as a possible contender for a Make and Take card for the Craft Show.  It didn’t make the cut but I think it shows the lovely Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper and the Daisy Delight Bundle.

This card was inspired by 2 cards I saw on Pinterest by Dawn Olchefske.  I wanted it to be a quick and easy card so  I used the different ideas for this card.

I made the card as a one layer card on Thick Whisper White card base.  One long strip of the Delightful Daisy DSP was adhered across the bottom and a different smaller piece was adhered to the top left hand side.

The Daisy was stamped in Calypso Coral ink on Calypso Coral card and then punched out with the Daisy Punch.  Yes it is Calypso Coral.  It looks more orange.

For the leaves I cut a daisy out with the Daisy Punch from Tranquil Tide ink.  Then snipped a few petals to adhere behind the daisy.   I punched a small circle out with the 1/2″ Circle Punch from Tranquil Tide to go in the centre of the flower.  Then added a Gold Faceted Gem.

The sentiment is from Happy Birthday Gorgeous.

More Daisy Cards coming soon,

Jenny

CELEBRATING 9 YEARS WITH STAMPIN’ UP!

9 years ago today I joined Stampin’ Up! I really can’t believe it!

I thought I would share my journey in discovering Stampin’  Up! all those years ago.  I hope you don’t mind.

I remember that first workshop I went to. All I knew of stamping was messy kids stamps but I went because I was just starting to make cards. Well! I was so impressed! It was all so beautiful, the colours, the stamps, oh! and the heat embossing. So magic! I was hooked.

I remembered feeling so overwhelmed though. Where do you start? So I bought the stamp set we used Seeing Spots and some card and ink. When I got it though I had no idea what to do. It sat for a while on my desk. There was no Pinterest then and I didn’t know about Google searching. I was not tech savvy to search too much for that.

I eventually had a go with the products – with interesting results.  Today in celebration I thought I would share my cards with you. I think we know each other well enough now for me to put myself out there and to give you a little chuckle.

Aren’t they lovely?? 😜

I used my Seeing Spots set. The white card has the spots heat embossed I think. I added a few little extra embellishments that I had. Haha! I think I have improved over the time. I hope so anyway??

It took 18 months before I actually joined Stampin’ Up! though after that first workshop. My husband was diagnosed with Cancer and life changed. Thankfully after treatment he made a full recovery.  Then I joined Stampin’  Up! and began my creative journey.  I have met some amazing people along the way and many have become good friends. I love that Stampin’  Up! has brought us together whether they are fellow demonstrators or customers.  Also I love that I have made friends near and far.  I think I now have friends in nearly every continent of the world.  How exciting and richer my life has become.

I started this blog not long after I joined. I had no idea of blogging  but I wanted to share my journey with stamps and ink, hence why I called this blog “a stamping journey”.

So THANK YOU for sharing in my journey. I hope I have inspired you along the way. I look forward to sharing many more projects with you in the future.

To another year of stamping. 🙂

Jenny

SOME MORE OH! SO ECLECTIC! YES IN BERRY BURST AGAIN. :)

These cards I wanted to share with you today are using Oh! So Eclectic and well, I have used Berry Burst again.  I will use a different colour soon I promise.  But it is such a lovely colour. 🙂

I held an event last Saturday with a group of ladies who mostly had never stamped before.  This first card I demonstrated to them to show the Big Shot.  They were so impressed – no scissors required!!

This card was inspired by one on Pinterest.  I love the Diamond pattern you can diecut in your cards.  It just adds something else to the card.

How to make it:

Firstly, stamp 2 of the detailed flowers on scrap Whisper White card in Berry Burst.  Then overstamp this with the solid full flower stamp in Powder pink.  The great thing is it doesn’t even have to be a perfect fit as it just adds a little colour.  Cut this with the flower Framelit shape in the Eclectic Layers Thinlits.

For the other flower, stamp the Solid full flower stamp in Berry Burst on scrap Whisper White and cut that with the flower Framelit.  Also cut a flower in Berry Burst with the detailed die and the flower shape die.  I run them together in the Big Shot.  It is much easier doing it that way. You will also need to cut 2 leaves from Lemon Lime Twist Card.

Then it’s a matter of assembling it all together. You can raise the flowers up with Dimensionals. Don’t forget the bling. 🙂

This next card was the Make and Take card they all made.  There needed to be some gentle encouragement for some to make it as they were a little intimidated but they were so proud of themselves when it was done.

How to make it:

On a piece of Berry Burst card slightly smaller than your base card run it through your Big Shot with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. This adds some lovely texture to your card.

On a piece of Whisper White, stamp the detailed flower stem stamp several times in Berry Burst. Then with the solid flower top stamp it in Powder Pink over the flowers.  Fill in some of the spaces on the white card with the little flowers stamped in Lemon Lime Twist.

When assembling the card, adhere a thin strip of Lemon Lime Twist under the right side edge of the White card.  Stamp the sentiment on to Powder Pink card and punch it out with the Duet Banner Punch. Sponged a little ink around the edge of the banner. Punch a second banner from Lemon Lime Twist card.  Adhere these together by off-setting them slightly.

Would you like to make these cards with me? If you’re local, let’s plan a date for us to share them with your friends. It would be a great excuse for you all to get together. Drop me an email or a comment.

Be back again soon,

Jenny

MINI NOTE CARDS WITH HIGH TIDE!

I held a workshop last week and the Host asked to use the High Tide set.  As a Thank You to her I made up a little notecard set and put them all together in a box made with the Wood Crate Framelits.  Here they are for you to see.

For the sentiment on the crate I went over the “shine” word with the markers and stamped on white card.  I did have to go over it a little with the markers when I stamped it to get a clear impression.

Here are the cards for you to see each one.  The cards measure 7.5cm x 7.5cm (3″x3″).  I made them all different.  The set is so versatile and so many combinations you can create.  I hadn’t played with this set that much until I made these.

This is the Make and Take card we made.  This is Cased from Julie Davison HERE.

I think I need to use this set  more.  I have so much to play with at the moment. Just not enough time 🙂

Thanks for visiting me.

Don’t forget if you don’t want to miss any projects  I am sharing on my blog here be sure to subscribe.  Click on the box in the right hand column to get my updates sent straight to your inbox.

ONE LAYER LIFT ME UP BALLOON IN PASTELS!

I have a simple one-layer card to show you today using the Lift Me Up Bundle. This uses the different shaped pieces in the Up and Away Thinlits.  The idea for this card was inspired by one I had seen on Pinterest.  I thought it was a clever idea.

The different pieces were cut with Blushing Bride, Sweet Sugarplum and Soft Sky.  The basket was stamped and cut from Crumb Cake. I sponged around the edge of each piece with the matching ink.  Using the same colour inks I stamped the “splodge” from Gorgeous Grunge over the card.  The sentiment was stamped in black.

Before adhering the pieces down, place them on the card in position.  Mark the place in pencil where the “strings” for the balloon would be.  Then remove the bottom piece and stamp the basket strings in.  Then adhere the balloon pieces and the basket in to place.  Add some Blushing Bride Baker’s Twine and a Rhinestone to finish.

I am so glad I can make more of these now.  I had lost one of the Thinlit pieces for weeks.  I was feeling very sad – and then yesterday sorting out stuff in the studio I found it on the floor under a table.  YAY!!

Have a great day,

Jenny

STAMPIN’ UP! CATALOGUE LAUNCH!! PART 1.

This week I had my Catalogue Launch for this fantastic new catalogue.  I had 2 sessions. One Friday night and one on Saturday.  Both of them were lots of fun and laughs and of course creating.  I thought I would share some of the fun with you.

Firstly,  I had a Product Playground area with lots of new products that everyone could have a play with.  This was very popular.

Playground sign

Here we had an Incolor bookmark they could make.  A great way to have a sample of the new Incolors for their catalogue.  Then they could use the Ombre Ink pads.  This one is the Bermuda Bay.  I will tell you about the Ombre Inkpads in another post.  They could stamp the flower and add it to a card when they get home.

Playground_1

Of course we had to play with Baby Bear.  I had done a few different colour combinations to show and they could stamp their own Baby Bear.  He (or she) was very popular!  I will tell you about Baby Bear in another post too.:)  I also had the new embossing folder ‘Floral Affection’ which is really lovely too.  So many nice new products.

Playground _3

Now I like to spoil my lovely ones who come.  There was some fun gifts and some very useful product gifts.

I made up some Catalogue Survival Kits. To help everyone through their catalogue.

Survival Kit

I found these fun Post-It notes and made up these cards for everyone so they can add them to their catalogue. For the header on these Post-It note cards I created the heading on the computer and then stamped around it with the ‘Swirly Bird’ stamp set.

Post it notes

I have so much Designer Series Paper and ribbon and bits from past years so I bagged up a lot to give a special grab bag to everyone.  I think everyone thought it was Christmas. 🙂  It was a lovely way to say Thanks to them not just for coming to my launch but for their loyal support many for some years.  It was so lovely to see the joy in their faces.  That made the day all worthwhile.

Treat bag - 2

It wasn’t a fancy bag but these Stampin’ Up! Bags are a good size for the Designer Series paper – and I have so many of them!  I made a quick tag using the ‘Thoughtful Banners’.

Treat bag _ 1

I have some more photos to share with you but that will be next post so do come and visit.

Thanks for stopping by today,

Jenny
