cards, Christmas

I JUST HAVE TO SHOW YOU THESE CHRISTMAS CARDS!

I am very proud to show you these cards today.  I can say that because I didn’t make them.  These were made by my clever Mother-in-law (who is 87!).  She has just started getting more into cardmaking recently and just loving it.  I loved these cards she has just made and thought I have to show you her fabulous work.

Firstly on this card, trees were punched with the Tree punch from Rich Razzleberry from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack.  The white paper has been embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and adhered to a Tempting Turquoise card base. A non-traditional colour scheme here.

These next 2 use the ‘Festival of Trees’ set.  The left card is on a Real Red card base.  The scallop edge is cut with the Scallop Thinlet and adhered at an angle.  Great idea!  The star is from the ‘Bright and Beautiful’ stamp set.  The one on the right is on a White card base and the edges sponged.  The scallop edge this time is ran through the Big Shot with the Delicate Details Embossing Folder to give it some texture. The greeting is stamped on a piece of white card and added to the card.

Now for the next two. The one on the left has a large star cut from the Pool Party base card then a piece of Pacific Point card is adhered underneath.  A star is cut from Silver Foil Sheet and then another star is stamped and cut out with the matching Framelits and then layered together.  The greeting from ‘Bright and Beautiful’ is matted on a Pacific Point card piece and adhered to the card.

The right one is on a Real Red card base.  The ornaments are from ‘Ornamental Keepsakes’ stamp set.  Two Wild Wasabi Ornaments are stamped directly onto the Whisper White card mat. Another ornament is stamped in Real Red and cut out with the Framelits.  The “JOY” is from the ‘Bright and Beautiful’ stamp set and stamped in Smoky Slate.

Now for the last two which I think is very clever.

P1150624

The one on the left is on a Blackberry Base.  The front of the card is cut at an angle.  Then a Whisper White angled piece is adhered to the front.  Stars are cut from Blackberry Bliss, Silver Foil and a white one stamped.  These are all layered together and the greeting stamped on the front. Inside on a Whisper White card mat the smaller stars are stamped in the upper right corner and partway down on the right side.  This is in Smoky Slate and I think Cherry Cobbler (?).  The card on the right is on a Whisper White card base.  The angled piece that was cut from the other card is adhered to the front of this card.  Then a large star is cut from both Blackberry Bliss and Whisper White and half the white star is adhered to the Blackberry card.  (Clever!!).  Then another star is cut from Silver Foil Sheet and one stamped on Whisper White. These were layered on the front of the card and a greeting is added.

What do you think?? Pretty clever, Hey! I am so proud of her.  I think she has done an awesome job.  So why don’t you stand and applaud my Mother-In-Law’s great results.  Or why not drop her a comment here and tell her what an awesome job she has done.  I know she would love that.  Her name is Verna BTW. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by and seeing these wonderful cards today.

Well, I might just have to go back to showing you my projects next post!!

Until then, Happy Stamping,

Jenny

12 WEEKS OF CHRISTMAS – WEEK 4!

Latte 12 weeks Header

We bring you another Christmas project this week for our 12 Weeks of Christmas – and today it is my turn to share a project.  I do hope you like it.  Today I have a Tiny Treat Gift Holder for you.

P1140690This little Treat Holder will fit a variety of treats all together for you to give someone special this Christmas.  Really it is just so simple.  I have used 3 of the Tiny Treat Boxes available in the Holiday Catalogue.  These are a bargain at $11.95 (AUS) for 24 boxes.  They are so cute and there are so many different ways you can use them.  This would be a really cute gift to give someone as a little extra or for those “Hard to buy for” people.

For this I have adhered 3 of the boxes together with Sticky Strip and then decorated them using the Nordic Noel Designer Series Paper.  I have added some stars from the Bright and Beautiful stamp set and cut with the Star Framelits. Additional stars were cut from Gold Foil Sheets with the smallest Stars Framelits.  The gorgeous Red Satin Ribbon finishes the box off.  Of course, you can decorate these boxes however you like.  Fill some Cellophane bags with treats and tie them off.  I used the Gold Twine for this.

If you would like a detailed tutorial to create this project then just drop me a message or email.  If you need any products to create the project then let me know or you can order directly at my Online Store Here.

And of course, we have a special bundle for you this week to help you create this project. These are the items you will receive in your Bundle AND receive 10% off!

Bundle Price is $44.80 plus Shipping and Handling.

I hope you like today’s project.  I would love to see your version when you create it so make sure you drop me a photo.

Happy Christmas creating!!

RECTANGULAR GIFT BOX!

I was playing around the other day and created this Rectangular style box. I was inspired by some packaging we received on something we bought.  I liked the design so I tweaked it to fit our Australian size cardstock.  Here are the boxes I made. Keep reading too for the tutorial to make your own.

P1140380

A Cherry Cobbler box ready for Christmas.  I used the ‘Bright and Beautiful’ Stamp set and embossed one of the gorgeous stars with Gold Embossing Powder.  I cut this out and one in Gold card with the Star Framelits.  I coloured a Rhinestone with the Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities.  BEFORE assembling make sure you stamp the cardstock.  So much easier!  The greeting on this box is from the ‘Good Greetings’ stamp set.  This is the Free set you can get this month when your party sales reach a minimum or $300.  This set is very useful with greetings for all occasions.

The Island Indigo box might suit the men in your life.  On this one I stamped the seaweed from ‘By The Tide’ with White Craft Ink.  The shell was stamped in Pool Party and the Seahorse in Calypso Coral.  I stamped the verse on each side of the box with Island Indigo ink.  For the Burlap trim I cut a length and cut off the sewn edges.  I then frayed the edges by pulling out some of the thread.  I used one of the threads to tie off on the Silver button.

Here they both are individually.

Here you can see how the end flaps fold in.

So do you want to know how to make one yourself.  Here you go.

RECTANGULAR GIFT BOX TUTORIAL

(Finished size is 10cm x 4cm x 7cm)

1. Cut cardstock METRIC:  24cm x 20cm.  On the 24cm side score and 4cm, 11cm, 15cm and 22cm.  On the 20cm side score at 1cm, 5cm, 15cm and 19cm.

IMPERIAL: 9 1/2″ x 8″.  On the long side score at  1  1/2″, 4  5/16″, 5 7/8″ and 8 5/8″.  On the 8″ side score at 3/8″, 2″, 6″ and 7 1/2″ (NOTE: I haven’t tested these measurements yet so I do hope they are correct! Let me know if I am wrong.  There are some odd measurements!)

Here is the template.  (This has now been updated).

P1140404

2. Cut off all the shaded areas.  Cut up on the tab lines (filled in line).  Where I have marked “Trim Down” I cut these tabs down shorter.  These are the tabs you fold in on the ends and then I angled the tabs to fold in more neatly.  I hope that makes sense??

3. Fold on all the scored lines.  Stamp the cardstock as you like before assembling.

4. Add Sticky Strip along the narrow tab on the right hand end (the underside).

5. Assemble by lining up the edge of the tab with the Sticky Strip to the other end.  Then fold in the flaps on each of the ends.

Hope this all makes sense.  Please ask if you are unsure.  Enjoy making them.
