BUTTERFLY BLUE WITH BRUSHOS!

I have another card to share with you today using the Brusho Crystal Colours. I shared one yesterday. If you missed it just pop back a post.

This card was created a little differently to the one  I shared yesterday. Let me tell you about it.

Firstly on Shimmery White card you will heat emboss your butterfly.  If you are not familiar with heat embossing.  Rub over your card with the Stampin’ Buddy.  Ink up your image (I used the butterfly from Beautiful Day), with Versamark.  Stamp the butterfly on your card and tip over some White Embossing Powder.  Clear Embossing Powder would work as well.  Heat the image with the Heat Tool to melt the powder.  I LOVE heat embossing.  That is what drew me in to stamping all those years ago.  It never gets old.

With the Aquapainter, wash over the butterfly going outside the lines too.  Sprinkle over the Blue Brusho Crystal – and watch it dissolve and spread.  That’s almost as magic as Heat Embossing.  You may like to add some more Brusho to add more colour or wash over more water.  Just see what it looks like.  Let it dry.

** I made a similar card a little while ago and even did a video back then. (It’s not a great one – still learning in that aspect).  If you want to head back to see that card and maybe catch the video, then head back to this post -> HERE.

To finish the card, I layered it on a piece of the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper.  Before adhering it down on to the Balmy Blue card mat I tied around some Black Baker’s Twine.  Then added the “friend” from the Well-Written Framelits.

Thanks for visiting,

Jenny

BRUSHOS BUTTERFLY!

It has been a little while since I have shared a project with the Brusho Crystal Colour.  I have to say I have had finished Brushos pieces sitting around for a while but it is only recently that I have put a card together.

For this card I used Shimmery White Card.  I sprinkled over the Brushos Crystals. In one corner I sprinkled over the Yellow and then spritzed it with water, slightly angling it across the card. Then I sprinkled over the Red along the left hand edge and spritzed it the other direction.  I added a little more sprinkles over afterwards just to add some colour where it didn’t quite go.  I liked the finished effect when I made it but I didn’t know what I was going to do with it.

Recently I had the Butterfly Gala set out and had this butterfly leftover from another project.  I had coloured it with the Stampin’ Blends.  It was just the right colours.  I added a few loops of Silver Thread behind it. The “friend” is cut from the Well-Written Framelits Dies. The card is finished off with some Black/Silver Metallic Ribbon.

I will share another one tomorrow for you so stay tuned.

BRUSHO + EPIC CELEBRATIONS!

Just over one week left of Sale-A-Bration now.  I still have a number of cards to share with you using these fun, free Sale-A-Bration items.  So this next week we are cramming them all in.

This Epic Celebrations set is so cool and such a good set for the “teens”.

The stamped and coloured sneaker piece was made a few weeks ago now when I made the coloured set.  You can see that post -> HERE.  This piece was left over when I was testing the results.  I thought it would be worth keeping and using.  To make that I stamped the sneaker in Versamark and then heat embossed in White powder.  After it cooled a little I went over it with the Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin’  Blends.  The black card piece was then cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

I have shown you some Brusho Crystals backgrounds in the last couple of posts too.  Since I had a piece of the inked Brusho samples lying around still I thought I would add that to the card.  They seemed to match in well.  To create this piece I sprinkled over some Shimmery White card with the Yellow Crystals and the Gamboge colour.  Then the piece was misted with water with the Spritzer.

To finish the card, I embossed a piece of white card with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder.  Then the piece was stamped with the sentiment from Party Pandas and the “spots” from Epic Celebrations.  The card base is Pumpkin Pie.

BRUSHO WITH CHARMING CAFE!

On a previous post I showed you the cute Thank You cards using the Party Pandas and they had a fun Brusho background. (If you missed it then head back 2 posts).

Today I have a similar little card to show you using the Brusho Crystals but this time using the Charming Cafe set.  These little cards are to welcome new members to my team who have joined during Sale-A-Bration.  It’s so nice to have them in the JEN’s INK team. 🙂

Here are a couple of them for you to see.

Aren’t they fun backgrounds?  Each time they turn out different. The pieces were made in my Brusho classes to demonstrate how they work before each class member made their own.  I thought why not use them for these cards rather than waste them.

For these I sprinkled over some Brusho Crystals and I used Glossy card this time.  Then I spritzed lightly with water.  I also tilted the cards slightly so you get the colour run.

The pieces were then adhered to a small card base made with the Thick Whisper White card.  You can make these any size but to give you the approximate size of these.

The Brusho card piece measures 8cm x 12.4cm ( 3 1/8″x 4 7/8″).  The card base is 8.4cm x 24.8cm, scored at 12.4cm.  (3 3/8″ x 7.3/4″ scored 4 7/8″  ** Please check the imperial size measurements beforehand).

The sweet little cafe chairs and table from the Charming Cafe set was stamped and coloured with Watercolor Pencils then cut with the Framelits.  Once I had adhered the Brusho piece to the card base then a vellum circle cut with the Stitched Circle Framelits was lightly adhered to the front.  So you couldn’t see the adhesive I added some dabs of snail adhesive near the centre so it would be covered with the table and chairs.   Then the Table and chairs were raised up with Dimensionals. The sentiment piece is from the Color Me Happy set and simply stamped in Black and cut around.   Before they were adhered down I looped around some Silver Thread.

Just a quick reminder:  Get 2 free stamp sets up to $174 in total when you join the Stampin’ Up! family during Sale-A-Bration.  (only just over a week left).  You might well receive one of these cards when you join my JEN’s INK team (and a little gift 😉 ).  What’s the rest of the story??  Order up to $235 of products and pay only $169.  No shipping costs either.  Then you get the 2 free stamp sets (all your choice). You get a minimum 20% discount on orders after that.  You have the choice if you do parties or classes.  You have the choice  when (and if you want) to leave.  You have the choice of when and what you do.  So what are you waiting for??  It’s time NOW.

If you are in Australia and would like to join you can do so right now.  Head to my website -> HERE and click JOIN THE FUN.  Just have your order together first it might save some time.  I can’t wait to send you one of these sweet cards.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jenny

BRUSHO THANKS WITH THE PARTY PANDAS!

A few weeks back now I had a big Brusho Weekend on the blog here.  You might remember it.  If not then head back some posts and you will see lots of fun projects with these great Brusho Crystals. Recently I made up some mini Thank You cards for people who bought the Brusho Crystals over the weekend.  I thought it was time I showed you some of them.

Gotta love those Party Pandas.  I will miss these little fellows.

The base card measures 10.5cm x 15cm (approximately 4 1/8″ x 6 1/8″).  They are scored half way on the long side.  The card piece  that I created the background with was slightly smaller and I used Shimmery White for this.

To create the background I sprinkled over some Prussian Blue Brusho Crystals and then used the Spritzer with water and sprayed lightly over the card.  You can watch the Crystals change before your eyes.  It’s quite magical to watch.  The more water you add the more “dilute” or “whispery” it becomes.  Each card piece you do will end up different.  Just amazing really!

I let the card pieces dry and then stamped the little Panda in Memento Black and coloured the envelope he has with the Stampin’  Blends.  The heart was coloured with the Stampin’  Write Markers.  Just a simple sentiment is all that is required I think.  That was stamped on a small piece of Daffodil Delight and snipped down to size.  The sentiment and Panda were raised up with Dimensionals on the coloured card piece which had been adhered to the White card base.

Thanks for looking.

Jenny

PS: Not much time left to get your Party Panda set or other Sale-A-Bration choice Free with your qualifying order.  Don’t leave it too late.

BRUSHO LONG WEEKEND DAY 3 – A SPECKLED BUTTERFLY!

I think this is my favourite card.  I really like how it turned out.  Can I say that??  Sometimes I am hesitant to say that about something I have made.  But I like the effect of it and I have to say it is just chance really.  When you use these Brusho Crystals you don’t know how it will work.

The butterfly is from A Beautiful Day set.  For the sentiment I masked the first word in the sentiment from the set to just stamp the “thinking of you” and heat embossed it in white.

To find out how to create this effect I have a video for you.

So what are your thoughts on the Brusho Crystals?  Have you tried them?  Do you think now you might give them a go?  Let me know what you think.  I would love to hear.

Just a reminder that my 15% off the Brusho Crystals ends at 8pm tonight. If you want to grab them and save money on then just drop me a comment or email me and I will get that sorted for you.  Included is an information sheet to help you use your set of Brushos.  I hope you will give them a try.  I don’t think it is the last you will see of these from me.

Thanks for joining me in this.  I hope you have had a great weekend.

BRUSHO CRYSTALS LONG WEEKEND – DAY 2!

What did you think of yesterday’s project??  I have a another project for you today.

We saw yesterday creating a background with the background.  They are really fun to use them that way.  This is another type of background.  I don’t have a video for this one but I will walk you through it.

CREATING A BACKGROUND WITH THE BRUSHO CRYSTAL COLOURS

On this card I have used Shimmery White card and I have added the Brusho to dry card.

On your card sprinkle over your Brusho Crystals.  I added the Brilliant Red in the right hand corner, a small amount of the Gamboge in the centre section and the Yellow on the left.  Use the Spritzer and lightly spritz the card with water. It’s always magical watching the crystals dissolve and the colour emerge.  It’s one of those moments like heat embossing.  Do you feel that?? 🙂

Take your time and just play and watch what happens.  You may want to spritz more or you may want to add more crystals.  The “speckly” effect is created by sprinkling with the Crystals and only spritzing lightly so they are more spots than actually blended if that makes sense??

Leave your card to dry.

Once dry you can assemble the card.  For this one I stamped the flowers from Birthday Blossoms in the corner and the sentiment at the top.  I was going to stamp the sentiment and raise it up and I think I should have done that but never mind it’s more to see the Brusho effect.  I love the thin White Organza ribbon.  So soft and pretty to tie.  The base card is Flirty Flamingo.  It worked out a good match for it even with using the Red on the card.  The bird from Birds and Blooms Thinlits were cut in Silver Foil.

Thanks for stopping by for this one.  Come on by tomorrow.  I think I have left my favourite until last.

IT’S A BRUSHO CRYSTALS LONG WEEKEND – DAY 1!

We start today! I am excited to bring these projects to you for our Brusho Long Weekend.  I have been playing with these Brushos (as I commonly call them) for the past few weeks.   Each day over the next 3 days I will bring you a fun new project with a video and tips.  I hope you enjoy them.  Plus don’t miss out on the Special bonus savings this weekend if you are an Australian resident.

Warning: These Brushos are fun, addictive and at times messy.  🙂

DAY 1

My first project is creating a simple background similar to this one I have shown on this Dragonfly card.

Here is a video to create a washed out effect but I have also written a description below with a few tips.

NB. The above card was made a few weeks ago as I was still experimenting.  For the card above I used watercolour card and sprinkled over the powder with the card dry and then wet it. It does give a slightly different effect.  On watercolour card the colour doesn’t run as well. You can create a background like this or how I have in the video.

In the video: I chose to use Gloss card and wet the card with the Aquapainter before I added the Brusho Crystals as the water enables the Crystals to spread easier.

Sprinkle over some Brusho Crystals lightly on your card after you have wet the card.  I have used the Prussian Blue.  You only need a small amount and for this technique I would keep it to one colour.

Spritz the card with water. Tilting the card will help make the colour run. Spritz lightly with more water if you think it needs more or you can sprinkle over more colour if need be.   When you are happy with the effect, leave the card aside to dry.  Once dry you can assemble the card.

On the card above I stamped the Dapper Denim base with the dots from the Dragonfly Dreams set.  A dragonfly was cut from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits in Gold Foil. I stamped a few of the dots from Timeless Textures in Versamark on my coloured card piece and heat embossed them in gold.  The paper is from the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Just a note on the sentiment: I masked part of the sentiment from the Dragonfly Dreams set and inked it with versamark.  After I stamped it on the Dapper Denim card I heat embossed it in gold.  It was cut with the smallest framelits in the Lots of Labels Framelits.  I added a few loops of the Gold Thread behind the sentiment.

I hope you like this project. Each time you do it the effect will be different.

Come back tomorrow for a second project.
