cards, Catalogues

Today I wanted to highlight a special stamp set for you.  The Artfully Aware set.  This stamp set is a special one for those “difficult” cards to make.  The ones that you just want to say something but you don’t know what to say.  This stamp set can say it all for you.

I think we all could use this set – sadly. 😦

Here are some samples created by Stampin’ Up! artists.

This stamp set was designed by Million Dollar Sales Achiever Janet Wakeland.

This stamp set though is retiring. There are only a couple of weeks left – or until sold out.

BUT did you know that this stamp set is reduced.  Now available for $30 AUD

Do yourself a favour and grab this set before it goes.  I am sure you will find it very useful.  To be honest.  I think I need to grab this set for myself.

See it in my store now -> HERE.

Contact me directly if you would like me to place the order for you.

Have a great week.  I hope there is some creative time in your week.

Now I can show you the projects that we made at my ‘Cards For Cancer’ Event held a few weeks ago.  We made 3 cards.  I chose the colours of these cards to represent some of the colour ribbons that symbolise various cancers.  If you do a search of Cancer ribbon colours it is amazing how many colours represent so many cancers.

Firstly,  the pink.  We all are familiar with the pink in representing Breast Cancer.  For this I used the ‘Reason to Smile’ set that was on promotion last month.  It’s a shame this set is not around longer.

This card was inspired by one I saw on my blog travels using ‘Field Flowers’.  I liked the layout of the card.  For this card we stamped the “Happy Birthday” from ‘Curly Cute’ in black and then ran it through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Impression Folder.   We added a white butterfly cut with the ‘Beautiful Wings’ Sizzlit die.  The solid flower from ‘Reason to Smile’ was stamped in Pretty in pink and the outline stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

The next card was a lilac colour representing All Cancers.  I used Wisteria Wonder.

The card was a Whisper White base with a Wisteria Wonder mat and the White for the top layer.  The doily stamp from ‘Delicate Doilies’ was stamped down the side in Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade and Pretty in Pink.  The greeting is from ‘Happiest Birthday Wishes’.  We just added some bling in the centre of the Lucky Limeade Doily.  This is a very simple card to reproduce.  It was CASED from Michelle here.  I couldn’t find the actual post with this card though but she has some great cards, so check it out.

The 3rd card had to be one for the boys.  This was light blue representing Prostate Cancer.  I used Marina Mist and the great set for the boys ‘Need For Speed’ and ‘Extreme Elements’.

I used the Marina Mist Marker to colour the boat.  The splodge was inked in Marina Mist and the edges sponged with Night Of Navy.  This cards was CASED from Sherri Freese on Stampin’ Connection, our demonstrator forum.

So I hope you like the projects we made.  I think everyone who came did.  It was a great day and for a Great cause.

Thanks for stopping by,

A few weeks ago I held a ‘Cards For Cancer’ Event.  I wanted to raise some much-needed money to support the work of the Cancer Council.  They do a fantastic job providing support for people affected by Cancer and for their families.  They are also involved in Cancer Education and Research and rely heavily on the support of the community.

We had a great day at my ‘Cards For Cancer’ event and Stampin’ Up! were very generous with their donations for this.  My goal was to raise $500 and  I was so excited to be able to hand over $770.90 to the Cancer Council last week. Thanks to all the wonderful ladies who came along.

I wanted to show you some of the fun we had on the day.  Unfortunately it was late in the day that I thought to take photos so I missed photos of us playing silly games.  (I’m sure everyone who were there was glad of this!!!).

Firstly, I will show you the ‘Thank-You’ bags I made up for everyone.  I got the idea for these bags from a bag I saw on Becky Roberts blog, I think????  For this I used the ‘Ribbon of Hope’ stamp.  This is a great little single stamp in the current Catalogue.  I used the Lunch Sacks for the bags.  The DSP is from the Prints Paper Stack in Pretty in Pink.  I tied them up with the Pretty in Pink Taffeta ribbon or the white Organza ribbon.

Inside I had a roll of ribbon, a small chocolate and a teabag.  What, a teabag you say.  That’s interesting!!  Here they are.

The original idea came from a swap I received at our Team meeting recently.  I can’t tell you who that was from though.  I didn’t have the ‘Tea Shoppe’ set that they had used though so I used the ‘Take a Sip’ wheel.   I rolled it in Soft Suede ink onto Crumb Cake card and then cut some of the cups out individually.  I coloured some parts of the design with a Soft Suede marker.  I punched out a tag with the small tag punch and stamped different images from the ‘Tiny Tags’ stamp set in Soft Suede.  I took off the original tag on the teabag and then attached the string of the teabag onto the new tag with a dimensional and then adhered the cup on top.

Here are some photos of them all creating.  I had 20 lovely ladies along and we all just fitted into my dining room.

This group was under the spotlight.  I had to end up getting another light up as it was getting darker.

So what were they all creating???

I will show you the projects next post.  I promise it will be in the next few days so stay tuned.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jenny x
