PUNCH KOALA CHRISTMAS!

I made this special Christmas card for my blog pal Patti in the US.  I thought she might like a little Australian Christmas.  I know I can share it now because she has received it. The idea was CASED from a sample on a Convention board a couple of years ago so sorry I don’t know who to give credit too.  If you know then let me know.

P1100723

A number of punches were used to create my little Koala.  I had fun playing around getting his shape right.

1 3/4″ circle, 1 3/8″ circle, 1 1/4″ circle, 1″ circle, Extra-Large Oval, Large Oval, 2 step Bird Punch, 2 step Owl Punch, Boho Blossoms, Itty Bitty Shapes pack, Word Window Punch. His kerchief was made with a 2cmx2cm square of red card.  I also added some sponging and a little Dazzling Diamonds with 2 way glue pen and used white gel pen for his eyes and black marker for his mouth.  I think that about covers it.  He is very cute.

For the rest of the card, the greeting is from ‘Wishing You’ and I cut the edge of the Gumball Green card with the zig-zag edge from the Finishing Touches Edgelits.  Just a little strip of Gumball Green Satin Stitched Ribbon finishes it off.

Happy Christmas Patti.  Happy Christmas to all my blog readers.  I appreciate all of you who stop by and visit me.  I hope to share lots more in 2014 so keep visiting. 🙂

IT’S A CRACKER!!

I have been wanting to share this with you for a while. Finally I can! Giving Gift cards are popular at Christmas so why not dress them up in a novelty gift holder.  Here is a Cracker Gift Holder made with the Envelope Punch Board.

P1100630

So how can you make it??  Check out the tutorial below.

1. METRIC: Cut card 14.8cmx14.8cm. Score your card at 6cm and 12cm. Fold on the score lines.

IMPERIAL: Cut card to 6″x6″.  Score your card at 2 3/8″ and 4 6/8″.  (I hope those sound right as I am not too sure of the correct way to represent it!!).  Fold on the score lines.

2..On the folded edge, line the left hand side of the card on the Envelope Punch Board at 2.5cm (1″). Punch.  It is a bit hard to punch through so press firmly.

P1100785

Flip your card over to the other end. Line up at 2.5cm (1″) and Punch.

 P1100786

3.  Now punch on the front bottom edge of the holder.  It is easier to open it out. Line up at 2.5cm (1″) and punch.  Then flip and punch at 2.5cm (1″) on the other end.

P1100788

4. Fold up where the narrow scored line is. Does this make sense?? The part that forms the pocket.  Turn it over.  Line up at 2.5cm (1″) and punch, flip the holder over and punch again at 2.5cm (1″) on the other end.

This is how it should look when you fold it out.

P1100791

There you have it.  I hope this makes sense.  Please comment/email me if you are unsure.  Sometimes it is hard getting all the details in writing.

To assemble this, add Sticky Strip inside on the narrow edge on both ends.  Adhere together to form a pocket. Now decorate it as you like and then add your Gift Card.

Why not make it a Stampin’ Up! Gift card to give this Christmas??  These ones are available especially from me (Australian residents only).

P1100632

Now go and enjoy making your own Christmas Cracker Gift Card Holder.

Until next time,

Jenny

INDIGO NATIVITY!

Is life busy for you at the moment?  I think we are all starting to feel a little time-pressured with Christmas preparations and shopping and the end of year activities.  Well, if you are feeling that way then you will understand my absence of late.  I am starting to tick off some really huge projects on my ‘To Do’ list so I think things are getting a little clearer – although I haven’t done a lot of Christmas shopping yet so I won’t speak too soon!

Anyway, enough of my rambling.  You are here to see what fantastic, exciting creations I have been doing.  I can’t guarantee all that but here is a card I created a couple of weeks and I hadn’t shown you yet.

P1100695

The layout is from a card I had filed away for a few years but thought it would work here.  The little nativity scene is from the ‘Best of Christmas’ set. (This is a great little set for $25.95 with some great images in the set).  It is stamped on Whisper White and then I cut a circle on the Island Indigo card with the Circles Framelits.  I embossed the card with the Snow Flurry Embossing Folder and added a few Rhinestones.  The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

Thanks for stopping by.  I do appreciate your visits to my little corner of blogland.  I really don’t need to talk to myself here!

Stop by again soon,

Jenny

MERRY MINIS CHRISTMAS

Happy Thursday to you.  I made this card a couple of weeks ago.  This was CASED off Pinterest and was originally done by Tamara from tamaraspapertrail.blogspot.ca.  I thought it was a bright, fun card to make. Something different to what I have been creating lately.   I used the Artisan Label punch though where she used the scallop square punch.  The little punches are from the Merry Minis Punch set.  Aren’t they cute!!  Lots of ways to use these little punches.  The base card is Whisper White and then a layer of Real Red and then Whisper White.  The greeting is from ‘Wishing You’.

Thanks for stopping by.  I have lots more that I have been creating.  Just to find the time to take photos and I can share them with you.

Come and visit again soon.  Don’t forget to say Hi though and tell me where you are from.  I would love to hear from you.

cards, Stampin' Up!

‘SANTA’S LIST’

I have had this card in Draft form for weeks – and then I got a little excited with the Envelope Punch Board.  So I thought I would take a break from the Punch Board for today and show you this.  Don’t worry there will still be more projects to come soon with that.  I can’t believe how many visits from Pinterest I have had over the last week with my Punch Board projects.  It is nice to have you all stop by.  Visit anytime 🙂

This was another card I made at our last Stamping day together (a few weeks ago now. OK a couple of months ago!).  I borrowed Leonie N. stamp set of ‘Santa’s List.  This card was CASED from her.  How good am I, not only borrow her stamps but CASE her cards as well! Oh well! When you are on to a good thing ……………….

Here is the card.

P1100179

I embossed the card with the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder.  The Santa is from ‘Santa’s List’  He is simply stamped in Cherry Cobbler and I used 2 way Glue pen to apply the Dazzling Diamonds around his beard, cuffs and hat.  It does sparkle so nicely in real life.  The circles were cut with the Circles Framelits.  I used a little strip of ‘Season of Style’ DSP.  There really is not much more you need to do.

I hope you enjoyed this little distraction.  Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you can visit again soon,

Jenny

LET’S CATCH UP – THINLETS AND AN ENVELOPE PUNCH BOARD!

I am a little behind with my blogging lately.  Life is busy and with Josh studying on the computer a lot at the moment with the HSC I have had little access to the computer. BUT I am here now.  Just squeezing in a little time while he is still in bed!

By now you would have known about the wonderful new products released just this past week.  I thought I would show you what I have been doing with them.

Firstly, have you seen the new Thinlets Card dies??? These make fun, interactive cards in no time.  Check them out.

thinlits_flyerTH_demo_10.13_SP

These come in the Labels shape or  the circle and come with lots of other fun bits to add to your cards.  They are $55.95.  I had a chance to play with Leonie’s circle thinlets the other day as I am still waiting on mine to arrive.  (Thank you Leonie). Here is a fun, birthday card to create.

 P1100508

P1100509

I have used the set ‘Sketched Birthday’ and the paper is from ‘Birthday Basics’.  This is really a great pack of paper.  I think it gets lost in the catalogue.  Leonie kindly gave me a piece.  (Thanks again Leonie!!!).  You are a star 🙂

I think it was the 1 3/4″ circle punch I used to punch the circle in Summer Starfruit card and the Whisper White scallop circle is the 1 3/4″ scallop circle.  I added a little bling to this too.

P1100489

Now on to the Envelope Punch Board.  I have been having so much fun with this new little gadget. You MUST have one of these.  Not only does it cut up to 66 different size envelopes BUT there are so many other fun boxes and projects you can do with it PLUS it has a corner rounder punch on it if you need one for any of your projects.

Demo_Header_EnvelopePunch

Here are some little treat pouches I have been making with them.

P1100493

Made with the ‘Sweater Weather DSP’ and ‘Label Love’ stamp set.  I added a little Burlap Ribbon. Add a little treat and this might be a good one for the men in your life???

How about a Christmas one with the ‘Season of Style’ DSP.

P1100492

The label is from ‘Chalk Talk’ and stamped in Gumball Green.  The ornament is one from the ‘Best of Christmas’ sets and stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  You could add ribbon and hang these in the Christmas tree with a special Christmas treat.  These are the right size to hold a Gift card.  If you want to make one you can use the Gift card size shown on the Envelope Punch Board.  The original idea came from Angie over at Chic N Scratch here.

Here is a little sneak of another project I created using the Envelope Punch Board.  If you are on my Facebook Business page you would have already seen it.  (BTW: You can click on the link in the right hand column and ‘LIKE’ my page to see my projects I show there).  I will show you the rest of this project in the new few days.

P1100482

So I hope you grab yourself the Thinlets Cards Dies AND the Envelope Punch Board.  I can tell you they are essential 😉

Have a good day however you spend it.

CHRISTMAS WITH THE CHEVRON PUNCH

I recently got the Chevron Border Punch from the Holiday Catalogue.  I was playing around with it to create some Christmas cards.

This card was CASED from Barb Mullikin I think??  I have used the ‘Season of Style’ Designer Series Paper.  I punched some Chevrons at the bottom of the paper and backed it with some Cherry Cobbler card.  I coloured the gifts from the set ‘Wishing You’.  I used Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green Markers. I then cut them out and lifted them up using Dimensionals.  I added a little Rhinestone to the centre of the middle gift although it is a hard to see that.  The greeting from that set was inked with Cherry Cobbler ink and was cut out using the Labels Framelits.  Some Gumball Green Satin Stitched Ribbon helped break up the busy paper.

P1090839

The next card is using the Chevron Border Punch a little different.  I added 3 of the punch outs in a line pointing downwards, actually towards the greeting which just highlighted the greeting!

P1100185

This Santa is from the stamp set ‘Santa’s List’.  I don’t have this set but I used it at Leonie N’s at our last stamp day a few weeks ago.  It’s good to get together and share stamps – and ideas 🙂  You can’t see here but I added some Dazzling Diamonds with the 2-Way Glue Pen to the white trim on Santa’s coat and hat and on his beard.  It is hard to see it though.  If you click on the photo to see a larger view you might just be able to see it sparkle!

I have used a different pattern of the ‘Season of Style’ Designer Series Paper and added some Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon to finish it off.

I have seen some more great ways to use this punch on my blog travels so I look forward to playing around with this punch some more . So stay tuned!

Thanks for stopping by,

Jenny

3D projects, cards, Stampin' Up!, swaps

MINI CHRISTMAS TAGS

A couple of weeks ago just before our last team meeting I realised I hadn’t done swaps yet.  These are not compulsory but I really hadn’t done any for a few months and yet another meeting comes by and I haven’t got anything to share.  What was I going to do??? It was a couple of hours before I had to leave.  I did a quick trawl on Pinterest.  Isn’t that your ‘go to’ site!!!!  I found some little Christmas tags that inspired me. So thought I would create some little simple tags similar to the ones I saw.

Here are the ones I created.  It is not the best photo as I was just dashing out the door to leave. I gave everyone a couple of them each.  I know it is only a small token BUT it was something.   I realised I didn’t even keep any for myself though!  DOH!

P1090966

I used the Chalk Talk Framelits to cut the tags from Whisper White and Crumb Cake.  I punched out little shapes using the Merry Minis punch pack.  Did you know these were still available??? They are very cute.  I adhered these to the tags and added a Rhinestone on the ones cut from coloured card. Then I added a small greeting.  These ones are from Petite Pairs and Teeny Tiny Sentiments.  I added some co-ordinating twine to finish them off.  Job done in record time.  I will just have to be a bit more organised next time.  🙂 Have a great day in your part of the world.  It’s a lovely sunny day here.  I think Summer has hit us early.

Till next time,

Jenny
