INSPIRED SAILING HOME CARDS!

I have another card for you today using the Sailing Home Bundle.

Two Sailing Boats with Stampin' Up! Sailing Home

This card was inspired by a card by Nicole you can see HERE.

For my card I just stamped the compass and the birds in Crumb Cake Ink.  I added 2 boats on mine.  They were stamped in Memento Black and coloured with the Stampin’ Write Markers.

The strip of paper is from the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper. I wanted to make it a little more general for the sentiment.  This could be used for a number of different occasions.  The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings and punched with the Classic Label Punch.

Just keeping it simple for this card.

Like I did with this card, when you start with a stamp set and not sure where to go with it, it is good to look around especially on Pinterest for other cards with the stamp set.  You can CASE it directly or be inspired by the card and use that as a spring board for your own creations.

Thanks for visiting,

FROGGY WINDOW!

It’s all about the frogs this week.  The Frogs in the Sale-A-Bration So Hoppy Together set.  They are cute little characters.

I had this idea in my head using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits to create a window for the cute little froggy on his unicycle.

A window was diecut in the Grapefruit Grove card base using one of the Rectangle Stitched Framelits and some of the little flies were stamped around the edge.  The sentiment is from the Amazing Life stamp set and punched with the Classic Label Punch.

On a piece of Shimmery White card I stamped the unicycle froggy.  JUST A TIP: Place the Shimmery White card inside the Grapefruit Grove card so you can see through the window to position where to stamp. The frog was stamped and then coloured with Watercolour Pencils and the Aquapainter. On a scrap piece of Shimmery White I stamped and coloured the little butterfly and then fussy cut it.  No Framelits for this – YET!! 😉  I added some sparkle with the Wink of Stella.  It is hard to see it though.

Watch out for more frogs this week.

Have a great week.

Jenny

The So Froggy stamp set is a free Sale-A-Bration choice with orders over $90.  See it in store now -> HERE.

GINGHAM TEA BAG TREAT HOLDER!

I had my Summer Sizzler Catalogue Launch on this weekend for the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.  It was a fun time sharing lots of the gorgeous new products and samples with them.

I will share some of the cards I have made over the next couple of weeks.  Today I thought I would share with you the little Treat Holders I made for everyone who came to Thank them for coming.

These cute little Treat Holders are made using the new Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper stack.  The paper is 6″x6″ (15.2cmx15.2cm) and are just the right size for these.  I made them in some of the different colours.  I took a photo of 3 of the different colour ones.  I have also used the lovely Organdy Ribbon that is available as a free choice for Sale-A-Bration. I will tell you how to make them below.

To decorate the front of them I stamped one of the butterfly stamps from Butterfly Gala set using Black Memento ink and these were then coloured with the Stampin’ Blends.  Using the Butterfly punch makes life a lot easier.  No fussy cutting them. 🙂 The sentiment is from the Well Said stamp set.  I stamped the “THANKS” on to Whisper White and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch.  I then could trim off each end. I find this a much easier way of doing it.

To make the Treat Holders

1. Take your 15.2cm x15.2cm (6″x6″) piece of paper.  I have used the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper stack.

Line the left hand edge of the paper on the 6.7cm (2 5/8″) mark on the Envelope Punch Board.

Punch the paper and score on the score grid of the Punch Board.

2. Turn the paper 90′.  Line up the little score tab on the previous score line.  Punch and score.

Turn the paper another 90′.  Line the tab mark on the score line, punch and score.  Turn again and repeat.

3. Round the corners using the corner rounder on the punch board.  Fold on the score lines. Decide which side you want showing on the outside, place that side facing down when folding.

NB: In the photo below I hadn’t turned it over at this point.

Fold up the bottom tab.  Place adhesive on the 2 outside edges of this tab. I used Snail adhesive.  Fold in one side tab and adhere down. Before folding in the other side tab place adhesive on the inside bottom edge of this tab.  Fold over and adhere down.

Decorate as you like. To add ribbon, punch a hole in the top tab and thread through your ribbon.

This is a great size for a Tea Bag packet, chocolate, Gift card or other treat.

Enjoy.

Jenny

HUNG WITH CARE STOCKING CARDS – AND A WINNER!

I think this stamp set hasn’t had much airing around the blogosphere.  That’s a bit sad.  It is a cute one. Hung With Care is a Host set found in the Holiday Catalogue.  I must say I haven’t used it near enough.  Today I thought it should have it’s turn in the limelight.

This first one uses the lovely All is Bright Designer Series Paper. You don’t need too much on the card when you use this paper.  The stocking is stamped in Garden Green.  For the sentiment I heat embossed that in white on black card and then punched it out with the Classic Label Punch.

This card was one from one of my Christmas Stamp A Stack Classes recently. The stocking was stamped in Garden Green and the white oval card was layered on to Silver Glimmer Paper. The Garden Green card mat was embossed with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder.  The Real Red Twine is retired.  I don’t usually use retired products in classes but I ran out of the thin Red Ribbon.  Adding a small strip of Under The Mistletoe DSP adds a little contrast to it.  Everyone did like making this card I think.  It’s nice when you can make up 3 of these cards in class in a hurry and they are ready to go.

BLING WINNER

A few posts ago I posted a little giveaway for reaching 50 Wednesday’s WOW!  Today I can announce the winner of the Bling Pack.

Congratulations Joy Stewart.  I will drop you an email shortly to arrange them to be sent to you.

Thanks for stopping by,

A DAPPER DENIM/TIDAL TIDE MIX WITH THE EASTERN PALACE BUNDLE!

I have another Eastern Palace Suite card to show you today.  I created this card after I made the project for the Blog Hop while I still had everything out.  BTW: Have you checked the Blog Hop out yet with the Eastern Palace Suite?  If not head back 2 posts and start the Hop around to see some great projects with this suite.

The card base is Dapper Denim and then a piece of the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper is matted on to a Tidal Tide card mat.  I added one of the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers along the bottom edge.   For the flower I cut 2 of the shapes from the Eastern Medallions Thinlits in Tidal Tide and then 1 in Gold Foil.  I was still waiting on my Tidal Tide inkpad so I sponged the edges of the flowers with Versamark to add some depths of colour.  The flowers were layered together and then some stickers were placed on the top one.  Before adhering it to the card base I curled up the edges a little with my Bone Folder and then added some loops of the Gold Thread.  The sentiment is from the Eastern Beauty set and embossed in Gold and I added a little Gold embossed swirl as well.  This was punched out with the Classic Label punch and then adhered together with a Gold Foil one.   An adhesive Pearl was added to finish it off.

There you have it.  I hope you like it.  Until next time….

PINWHEEL TAGS TEAM SWAPS!

I have been on a roll with the Pinwheels lately using the Swirly Bird set.  I needed to make some swaps for our team meeting last night so I decided to make up some quick tags with them.  WELL….. That was the plan.  These tags took hours.  Nothing was going right yesterday.  I was getting ink everywhere, I was cutting things wrong!!! Do you have days like that?  Anyway, I got them done.

swirly tags

I made a few variations of them and a number of each. For the colours on the Pinwheels they are from left: Wild Wasabi and Emerald Envy; Sweet Sugarplum and Peekaboo Peach; Blushing Bride and Peekaboo Peach; Sweet Sugarplum and Elegant Eggplant.  I used some scraps of the Playful Palette DSP stack too.  (I am on a mission to use all of my DSP!).

The white card measures 13cm x 5cm (5 1/8″ x 2″) but you can make them any size you like.  These will fit on a card front to make a full card.  I rounded the tops with the Corner Punch.

The sentiments are from ‘Thoughtful Banners’.  I punched them out using the Classic Label Punch.  It’s cool that you can punch them different ways to create different effects. I coloured the Rhinestones with a black sharpie.

I got there in the end.  I hope you like them.  🙂
