EASTER TREAT BAG FOR STAMPIN’ DREAMS BLOG HOP!

This month’s Theme for the Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop is … Easter.  You might have just come from Angela’s Blog -> HERE or starting at my blog here either way enjoy the hop.

Easter time is fast approaching!  I have an Easter Treat Bag to share with you.

THE TREAT BAG

I have made the treat bag using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits set from Thick Whisper White card.  It would be more sturdier than regular white card.  You want it strong to hold that chocolate  in. 🙂  There are a couple of modifications to the bag to make it wider to hold the chocolate bar.  I will outline these changes below for you.

Cut your Treat Bag out with the Thinlits from cardstock.  Emboss the card pieces with the Basket Weave Embossing Folder.  Adhere the 2 pieces of the diecut bag together as you would usually to have one long card piece. Don’t adhere together to form the bag as yet.

Due to the thickness of the chocolate bar you will need to add an additional piece to your bottom tab. Cut a strip of white card measuring 9cm x 3cm.  Score on the short side at 1.5cm (3 1/2″ x 1 1/8″ scored at approximately 1/2″). This piece will be adhered to the bottom of the treat bag to enable the bottom to be sealed.  To do this, add adhesive along one side of the small scored strip.  Adhere this to  the bottom tab section.  Place adhesive on the back tab and fold over to adhere.  NOTE:  Place your chocolate or other treat in before doing this and wrap it around the treat so it is folded at the right place to fit.  Also, it won’t adhere completely the full length due to the size but will adhere at the top points.

DECORATING THE BAG

To decorate the front of the bag I wanted to keep it simple.  I had just received the You’re Inspiring set so thought it would be just appropriate for Easter.  Although Easter does not exactly fall in our Spring time when the Daffodils appear but it is still nice and sunny and warm and I think these daffodils are quite bright and cheery.  I coloured the daffodils with the Stampin’ Blends.

Once the daffodils were coloured it was then cut with the largest circle from the Layering Circle Framelits.  The paper for the banner is from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack.  I flagged the end of the strip and raised that up off the front with Dimensionals.   At the top of the banner piece I added a Gold Binder Clip and tied around some White Organza Ribbon. Adhere your stamped circle off the paper with Dimensionals.  Stamp the sentiment from the Inspiring You set on Pumpkin Pie and punch out with the Duet Banner Punch.

CLEAR BUNNY BOX FOR EASTER!

Easter is this weekend. Are you all sorted?? I had these little Lindt chocolate bunnies left over from class last week and wanted to make a special box for them.  I will show you what I created and I have the tutorial below to make your own.

It’s a little shallow box with a clear Acetate lid on top.  I realised one of the bunnies was a bit squashed but hey! I went with it still!! 🙂

TO MAKE YOUR OWN CLEAR BUNNY BOX

I have included Metric and Imperial but please check the Imperial measurements first. 🙂

Base:

15.4cm x 5.4cm. (6 1/8″ x 2 1/8).

Score at 1.2cm (1/2″) on all 4 sides.

Cut up on the small score lines on opposite ends.  Fold on all the scored lines. Add adhesive.  I used Fast Fuse.  Assemble your box.

Lid:

*For Imperial measurements please test them first.

17cm x 14cm (6 3/4″ x 5 1/2″)

On the 17cm (6 3/4″) side score at 2cm and 15cm (1 3/16″and 5 7/8″)

On the 14cm side (5 1/2″) side score at  5.5cm and 8.5cm (2 3/16″ and 3 3/8″).

*Apologies for the photo quality.  It is a bit hard with the lighting and the shiny acetate.

Cut up on the small score lines on each side.  Fold on the score lines.  The acetate is hard to fold over but run along the folded line with your bone folder to press it down. Add your adhesive to the small tab at the side and down one of the side tabs.  Adhere together to form a box.

Hope that is clear?? Decorate as you like.

I wrapped around some Sweet Sugarplum Ruched ribbon, then decorated it with the diecut flower with the Stylish Stems Framelits.  The sentiment is from the Little Cuties set, cut with the Stitches Shapes Framelits and a small Layering Ovals Framelits.  I actually had these little “bits” on my desk from a project I didn’t end up using so that worked well.

I hope you like the cute box?? There is just enough time to make your own.

MORE EASTER BAGS AND TREATS!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to you all.  I hope that the weekend will be a great one with those you love and that you remember the greatest act of Love we have been given as we celebrate this time.

Last post I shared some cute Easter baskets.  I thought I would share another Easter bag as well as some Easter tags.  It’s not too late to whip these up right! This bag and the basket from last post plus these 2 tags are ones we made at my Easter class last week.

This little treat bag was inspired by a project I found on Pinterest but you can find the tutorial HERE. It’s very easy to make.  For mine I decorated it with the chick from ‘Honeycomb Happiness’.  This is such a great image for Easter don’t you think?  I stamped it on Shimmery White and coloured it with the Crushed Curry inkpad and the aquapainter. I cut the image with the Circles Framelits and layered it on a Crushed Curry card cut with the ‘Deco Labels’ Framelits.  The strip of DSP is from the ‘It’s My Party’ Paper Stack. I decided to stamp the greeting on Vellum in Black Stazon so it didn’t cover the chick too much. The greeting is from the ‘Easter Lamb’ stamp.  On the bag I punched the corners of the card with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch and added a slit with the punch too. I embossed the card with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder too. Cute!

Inside there is a separate little box that you adhere to the inside.  It is so easy.

We made a similar tag.  This time I cut some of the DSP with the Deco Labels Framelits and I cut one with Whisper White as well to adhere together for added strength and also to have white card to write on the back.

I added a White Cotton Ribbon bow and some White Baker’s Twine to hang from it.

This next tag we made was using the Easter Lamb stamp.  So cute.  The lamb was stamped on Sahara Sand and coloured with the White Gel Pen after it was  cut with the Circles Framelits. I cut some DSP from the Bohemian DSP with the ‘Lots of Labels’ Framelits and also a larger one from Bermuda Bay.  I tied through some Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine. A little flower was added punched in Crushed Curry with the ‘Itty Bitty Accents’ Punch Pack. The greeting is from ‘Teeny Tiny Sentiments’ and I cut this one with the Bitty Banners Framelits.

Now you can whip these up in no time – or file them away for next year 😉

Have a lovely Easter time.  Visit again soon,
