SENDING SMILES WITH THE LIFT ME UP BALLOON!

Another card to share with the Lift Me Up Bundle. This time I wanted to add some colour behind the balloon.  This is so easy to do with the shaped framelits in the Up and Away Thinlits set. This card was inspired by a card shared by a Demonstrator friend.

TO RECREATE THE CARD:

Adhere a piece of the ‘Falling in Love’ DSP to a Sweet Sugarplum card base.

Cut the large Hot Air Balloon from Very Vanilla Cardstock.  Using the shaped framelits in the Up and Away Framelits cut pieces in various colours of card.  I used Blushing Bride, Soft Sky and stick your card pieces down. Adhere the Balloon to your card.  Tie off some Sweet Sugarplum (from the Succulent Ribbon Combo) and some Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon and adhere on to the Balloon with a ‘Falling in Love’ Embellishment.

Stamp the sentiment on to Very Vanilla Card and cut that with one of the shapes. Sponge the edge with Sweet Sugarplum ink. Cut an oval from the Layering Oval Framelits from Sweet Sugarplum and layer them together.  Raise them up with Dimensionals.

A really very easy card once you put your Hot Air Balloon together.  Try it with different colour combinations perhaps?

Have a great day.

CATALOGUE REVIEW UPDATE!

Finally I can share some of the fun from my Catalogue Review last weekend for the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Catalogues. I had a session on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Lots of laughs and creativity was involved I can assure you. 🙂

Firstly, I always like to make little gift bags up for my lovely guests and spoil them with some “bits” from the new catalogue.  (Also a chocolate treat is a must in the bags!). These are the little bags this time.

2017-02-04-11-07-58_wm

These are using the Kraft Tag A Bag Gift Bags in the Annual Catalogue. You know I did mean to emboss these bags BUT …. Well that slipped my mind until afterwards.  I used a strip of the gorgeous Falling In Love DSP and flagged the end of the piece. From a square of the Sweet Sugarplum cardstock I cut the larger flower from the Stylish Stems Framelits and then layered it on some Whisper White cardstock.  I thought the centre was a bit plain so I coloured it with the Early Espresso Watercolor Pencil and lightly brushed it over with the Aquapainter. This lightened the colour a little so it matched with the Kraft bags. I went over it with the Clear Wink of Stella pen for sparkle, although you can’t see that in the photo sadly.

The sentiment is from the Dragonfly Dreams set which I had coloured the “thanks” with the black marker before stamping it. Then punched it out with the Duo Banner Punch.

These are the cards we made.  The first one using Dragonfly Dreams Bundle and the Falling Petals Embossing Folder.  I had Cased this off Pinterest changing the Embossing Folder and adding the touch of the Paper Doily behind it.

The second card was Cased off Pinterest too using the Sale-A-Bration sets Avant Garden and Delicate Details.  I LOVE both these sets!  Sadly I lost my little stamens from the Avant Garden set so we had to add a little dot in the centre of the flowers.  Some were very clever and drew stamens in with the Smoky Slate marker.

I always forget to take a photo of the groups as it gets pretty busy. I snapped one just as we were finishing up at the Saturday session. Some people had already started to leave. (sorry!) 🙂 There was lots of creative mess happening.

You might have seen the card tin in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue? I have dressed this one up. Everyone who has a party in the next month or 2 with me goes in the draw to win one.

Maybe I could just give some extras away too. Mmm? If you want a party or your own private stamping event, let me know.  I only have a few dates available so you better be quick.

There you have it. We had a product playground too for everyone to test out the pencils and a few other new products. That’s always good to test those things out.

Thanks for visiting me.  Visit again soon,

SO DETAILED WITH FALLING IN LOVE!

Here is another card for you that we made at Onstage last year.  This one uses the very delicate ‘So Detailed’ Thinlits.  Quite pretty and very elegant to add to your cards.

A few card details:

Card base is Soft Sky and the very gorgeous Designer Series Paper is the ‘Falling in Love’ DSP.  All the papers in this pack are so lovely.  This one gives a Bokeh effect without all the sponging to create your own!

When we made this card the strip created with the So Detailed Thinlits was a Belly Band around the card.  I felt that the card was a bit bare when you take it off, so I just cut it to the width of the card and made it in to a strip so the card opens as normal.

The sentiment is from ‘So In Love’ set stamped in Sahara Sand I think.  It is finished off with the gorgeous, soft Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon and the ‘Falling In Love’ Embellishments with some Copper Thread.

This would make a very elegant Wedding card.  What do you think?

Check out the Thinlits and the stamp set.

I hope the weather is good for you where you are? It is sweltering hot here.  Well really melting hot.  (I can say that).  It was a bit hard in my craft room today but I managed to get a few projects done to prepare for my Catalogue Review this weekend.  I can share these with you soon. 🙂

BEAUTIFUL YOU WATERCOLOURED!

I have finally  had a chance to play with some new products.  I have been so busy with Christmas and all these new toys have been sitting there looking at me.  The first thing I pulled out was the set ‘Beautiful You’ and the Watercolor Pencils.  I was really keen to give them a try.

This is the set of cards I created with them.

beautiful-you-_-group

I kept the layout the same with each card.  I will tell you how I created them below.

The image:  There are 3 beautiful line images in this set.  I stamped each one on a square of Thick Whisper White using Black Stazon.  It is fine to use this thicker white card to do a little watercolouring.   I coloured around the images with the Watercolor Pencils.  Then using the Aquapainter I gave it a wash over to blend the colours.  These pencils just blend so smoothly.

The Paper squares: I wanted to keep the layout fairly simple.  I layered the image onto squares of Sahara Sand and then on to squares of the ‘Falling In Love’ DSP coming in the Occasions catalogue. This is such gorgeous paper.  Although I seem to have hidden most of it under the squares!!  Each of the squares are the same size measuring 8cm x 8cm (4″x 4″).  I fanned them out before adhering them to the base card.

Assembling the card: The “squiggly” line stamp was stamped over the base card with the co-ordinating ink colour.

The sentiment:  There are some really lovely sentiments in this set.  I used the “celebrate” on each one stamping them on a strip of Whisper White cardstock. One was just using that word.  Then on one card I coloured the “you” on one of the sentiments with the Black Marker and stamped that with the “celebrate”.  That’s the great thing with clear blocks you can line it up closely to where you want it.  If you are unsure eyeing it you could use the stamp-a-ma-jig.

On the other card I inked up the “in style” sentiment and stamped it with the “celebrate”. On each one I snipped the end to flag the end and then wrapped around some Linen Thread several times before adhering  small piece of Paper Doily behind the card strip. Then it was raised up on to the card using Dimensionals.

Here is a close-up of each of the cards for you to see.

Only a few days to go (January 4th) before the Occasions Catalogue goes live. Sale-A-Bration starts to. I can’t wait to play more with these gorgeous products. Have you got your catalogue yet?  If you still need to get your hands on one and you are in Australia then drop me a comment and I will send one your way.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jenny
