FRIDAY FAVOURITES – GOOD-BYE TO THE 2016-2018 INCOLORS!

Each year we say Good-Bye to the 5 Incolors that have been with us for the past 2 years.  Some of these colours become favourites.  It’s hard to let go of them.  This year we are saying Farewell to colours like Sweet Sugarplum and Dapper Denim!!  So for our final Friday Favourites for this current catalogue let’s look at these colours.

These little mini cards I made back in June 2016 to show the colours but I don’t know if I shared them on my blog as I can’t find the post now.  Here you are though.  They were using my favourite set at the time Swirly Birds.  (Note to self: I really must use that set again soon).

While these colours are nice I have really loved the Dapper Denim and Sweet Sugarplum colours.  I have used them a bit.

Dapper Denim is a great colour for “boys” cards.  I couldn’t find the original post for this z-fold card below but it worked well for a special 40th card.

Another “boys” card using the Happy Birthday Thinlits with the Color Theory paper stack.

I cut 2 of the Thinlits for this one in black and one in white and when adhering them together I offset them slightly.  The white makes the Black ‘POP’.

Dapper Denim even for a wedding card.  So elegant!  This one uses the Floral Themes set.

Sweet Sugarplum – what a lovely shade of colour.  Using a short lived bundle back a couple of years ago, Thoughtful Branches.

One with the Sale-A-Bration 2017 set Avant Garden.

Sweet Sugarplum worked well with Peekaboo Peach.

Another Swirly Bird card.  I heat embossed the swirls with White Embossing Powder before sponging over the colours.

We won’t miss Flirty Flamingo as that is now coming back as a core colour.  That’s pretty exciting!

Have you got these colours?  What is your favourite?  Now have you stocked up on your cardstock, ink refills, inks etc.  If you haven’t you better get on to it.  Some of these items have sold out already but you might be lucky.  Please don’t go looking for them after the 31st as you might not get them.

You can order them in my online store -> HERE.  Please use the Host Code: XQZEJREH  Thank you.  I do appreciate your order and be sure not to mark it anonymous or I can’t send you a little card and gift to say Thanks. 🙂

This is the last of Friday Favourites for this outgoing catalogue.  Don’t worry I think I will be back with Friday Favourites for the new 2018 Catalogue.  Not long now to wait!!!  I’m getting excited that you will be able to see it soon.

Thanks for stopping by today,

Jenny

SOME FAVOURITE CARDS FROM 2017!

It’s the end of another year.  I have to say I have really enjoyed my stamping this year.  I have tried some new techniques and got involved in some challenges.  It’s been fun!

I thought I would look back at some of my favourite projects from this past year.  Now I did think I would pick one from each month but it was getting too hard.  So I have just picked a few.  If you click on the title you can see more details of the project.

** Apologies in advance: lots of photos. 🙂

Delicate Details Dragonfly

I think the Delicate Details stamp set was my favourite for Sale-A-Bration for 2017.

Multi Stamping for the boys cards

The Nailed It set was great for the boys cards earlier this year.

Carousel Birthday Bendi Card

I have wanted to make a Bendi for a long time so it was great to finally make one.  I must make another one again soon.

Flower Box

This was the most popular class for the year.

Meeting the 2017 Incolors

I am still loving Lemon Lime Twist but I seem to use Berry Burst a lot.

Baby Card in a Box

I love making Card in a Box type cards.

I love this one for it’s different fold.

Merry Patterns Half Fold card

This one below was probably my favourite Christmas card though.

What would you like to see more of?  I would love to know.

A 15 MINUTE WEDDING CARD!

It’s a crazy time of year isn’t it??? I feel I have fallen off the rails somewhere.  I need a holiday.  Oh! That’s right, I just got back a week ago from one. :/

Anyway,  you know how you get wedding invites at least 6 weeks before the Big Day.  So you know it is coming up. Haha! Well yes Josh has another wedding to go to today so of course I made a card late yesterday afternoon.  I had literally 15 minutes before I picked up my daughter from work.

Sorry the photo isn’t even great as it was late last night when I took a photo.  I had done a quick search on Pinterest earlier in the day to get ideas so I was inspired by one I saw on there – and it was quick!!  Isn’t that bad for a wedding. 😦

I used the Floral Themes stamp set.  The paper is from the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper pack.  Who would have thought!  I think it took most of the time to tie the ribbon!

To add to the dramas I had all my clear stamping blocks out in my studio for classes this weekend and I was in too much hurry to go outside and get them.  So I put the stamps on an inkpad to stamp it.  The trouble with that though is you can’t see where you are stamping.  Hehe! It was a bit of a gamble.  That explains the slight angle on the sentiment. 🙂

Later on I added an insert in the card. I added a piece of white copy paper and stamped the sentiment from the Rose Wonder set.  Sorry I didn’t take a photo.  I did relent and go and get a stamping block though.   I also got my Adhesive Pearls which were out in the studio too.  I think that finishes it off.

So a very quick card but my son was happy.

I need to make up a batch of wedding cards.  I say that all the time… He already has 2 invites on the fridge for the New Year.

So there you go.  I hope life isn’t too crazy for you.  I hope to come up for air soon.

Have a great weekend,

Jenny
