BEAUTIFUL MOMENTS WEEK – DAY 3 – TOP PANEL CARD!

Moving along on our Beautiful Moments Showcase Week.  Day 3.  This card is a little different.  I don’t know what you might call it but I call it a Top Panel Card.  I will share the instructions below.

The base card is a little smaller than the standard size allowing you to have a panel overhanging the edge.

Of course, you could do the base any size but for this one, the base card measures 21cm x 10.5cm scored at 10.5cm.  (8 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 4 1/4″).  The paper mat is slightly smaller 4mm (1/8″).

The stamped piece is watercolor card cut with the larger die in the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  The image was stamped in Black Stazon and coloured with the Watercolor Pencils and washed over lightly with the Aquapainter.  When the watercolor card was cut it left some scratches on the other side.  (maybe because my plates are scratched!).  I didn’t want it showing on the reverse so I adhered a piece of White card on the back.

The sentiment was also stamped on watercolour card to match the stamped piece.  The sentiment is from the Positive Thoughts stamp set.  It was stamped in Black Stazon so I could do a light colour with the Daffodil Delight pencil and lightly wash it.  The flourish piece behind the sentiment is from the Flourish Dies.

Check back tomorrow for Day 4 of our Showcase using this lovely set.

TO WELCOME MY NEW TEAM MEMBERS!

I have been going to share this card for a little while now – but so much to share!!

This card has been the recent one to welcome my new team members.  It’s always lovely to have new JEN’s INK’ers. 🙂

What more do you need with the gorgeous Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper.  I cut the window with the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.

I did cut a small flourish using the Flourish Dies from Granny Apple Green then tied on a small key from the Bird Ballad Trinkets.

This is inside.  Just stamping the birds from the Bird Ballad stamp set and the leaf in Calypso Coral.  The sentiment is from the Stamping Your Way To The Top stamp set for demonstrators.  We received this set at an Onstage event a few years ago.

I need to make some more of these.

Have you wondered why you would want to join Stampin’ Up!?? Well – discounts, great friends, fun events, sneak peeks, inspiration, even an opportunity to build a small business and earn an income.  Read more about it -> HERE.

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #82 – COLOURING THE MAGNOLIA LANE DESIGNER SERIES PAPER!

Wednesday’s WOW! #82.  Today is a little technique, or a little trick however you like to look at it.  It is colouring the Designer Series Paper, particularly the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper with the Stampin’ Blends.

Perhaps you have seen this around the internet so apologies that you have already seen it. It’s not my original idea.  I have had this card made for a few weeks and just managing to share it with you now.  It might just be a new trick though for you.

The Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper is very pretty already. You really don’t need to add colour but it’s good to add a little different colour to make it for a totally different occasion.

Colouring with the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends makes the flowers look more like Poinsettias for a Christmas paper.  With this particular print you don’t need to colour the leaves.  They will work just as well as they are.

So here is the finished card.

The sentiment for the card is from the Itty Bitty Christmas set punched out with the Timeless Label Punch. They are great Christmas sentiments in this.  Add a little of the Scalloped Lace Trim and I cut some gold leafy shapes using the Flourish dies.

It looks pretty Christmas-y now don’t you think?? 🙂

I am sure this would work well for other papers and colours too.  I was going to try another one but ran out of time.  Add it to the ‘To Do’ list.

Happy Stamping,

Jenny
