COLOUR INKSPIRATION CHALLENGE #58!

It’s been some time since I have been able to play along with the Colour INKspiration Challenges – or any challenges really.  So the other day I had a little time so thought I was going to do one.

This week’s Colour INKspiration Challenge #58 is using the colours: Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Whisper White and Gold Foil.  You can follow along -> HERE.

Here is my card.  I thought the colours suited a Vintage Style or for a sweet Baby card.  I went with a Baby card.  The new stamp set Wildly Happy arrived last week so thought this was a great opportunity to ink it up.

The bunny and the sentiment were heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. I used the Shimmery White card. I lightly watercoloured the bunny using the Blushing Bride inkpad and an Aquapainter. A decorative strip and little flower was diecut from Gold Foil using the Flourish Thinlits dies.

Then I went a little “arty”.  On the Shimmery White card mat I flicked some Blushing Bride ink splatters by adding some Blushing Bride ink to a Clear Block, adding a littler water with the Aquapainter and then flicking it off the block gently on to the card.  I was a little nervous doing this as it is not something I have done before and wasn’t sure how much control I had – but it worked ok.

If you have time why not play along with this challenge.  They are fun to be a part of and to really extend/challenge your creativity.  Have a go!  (I added the link above).

ONSTAGE – BUDDY GIFTS AND SWAPS!

Did you catch the video in yesterday’s post with the swaps I received from Onstage?  If not, head back to the last post. I have the still photos there too.

Today I wanted to share with you my buddy gifts and the swaps I made to share.

BUDDY GIFT PACKS

I made up little Gift Packs – or Onstage survival kits. 😉 I made up 4 of them.

These packs contained a notebook.  I loved these notebooks.  Two had on the front “Don’t Forget To Be Awesome” and the other two were “My Awesome Book of Brilliant Ideas”.  I thought these would be great to write notes in at the Onstage sessions.  In the packs there was some mini Tic Tacs, Tea Bag, Kit Kat Chocolate and of course Mini Post-It notes for the new catalogues.  I will show you a close up of the tags I made.

THE TAGS

A scallop square was cut with the Layering Square Framelits and also a larger black square.  On the white card I stamped the sentiment from the Around The Corner stamp set.  Then stamped the small “flowery” centre shape on to Mango Melody Card and punched it out with the 3/4″ circle punch.  Then I diecut a flower in Mango Melody Card from the Flourish Thinlits and layered them together.  Before adhering the flower to the card with Dimensionals I stamped the leaf from the Around The Corner set in Granny Apple Green.  The Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon was adhered between the white scallop square card and the black card.  They are simple but I loved how they turned out.

MY SWAP

I didn’t have a lot of time to make swaps but I really wanted to and I knew I wasn’t going to have a lot of time to swap on the Saturday as I was helping with registration in the morning. So I kept the card simple and only ended up making 15 of them.

This was my swap card.

I have used the Rooted in Nature Bundle.  The tree and the leaf were heat embossed in Copper and diecut out. The sentiment is from Wood Words stamp set.  I wanted to go for an angle look so angled the paper from the Love What You Do Specialty Paper.  Underneath the paper there was a strip of the Copper Foil Paper. To finish I tied a knot using the Copper Trim.

Now since I hadn’t made many swaps I had a few doubles of cards from recent classes so thought I would add those to the swap mix.  These are the group of cards.  I had 2-3 of each card. These were received well too.

Thanks everyone for swapping with me.  I hope you liked your card you received from me.

A SPECIAL THANK YOU CARD

Earlier I mentioned that I was helping on the Saturday.  This was the special card I received from Stampin’ Up! to say Thanks.  Totally unexpected.  It was signed by all the staff that were there.  How lovely.

This uses the Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper.

Thanks for visiting me.  I hope you like them.

Tomorrow is another 12 Weeks of Christmas Edition so see you then.

SWEET SOIREE COLLAR CARD!

I have another card to share with you today using the gorgeous Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper.  One more way that you can #usethatpaper  I am on a mission to use up my paper instead of storing it and hoping to help you in using your stash. There are some lovely, gorgeous paper to come in the new catalogue, so you need to use this paper.

I have to admit one of the dilemmas of using the gorgeous Stampin’ Up! paper is – which side do you use?? Usually there is gorgeous prints on both sides and you don’t want to cover one to show the other side.  SO, I think this fold is great as you can see both sides at once.

This card is a Collar card.  I was reminded of this card when I went looking through some older blog posts. You can see that one I made -> HERE.

I liked both sides of this piece of Sweet Soiree paper so it was nice to see both of them.

To create a Collar Card

Cut your white card slightly smaller than your card base – 4mm (1/4″ ) smaller. Cut your piece of Designer Series Paper 4mm (1/4″) smaller than the white card mat.

On your piece of Designer Series Paper, at the half way point on the right hand side, which is approximately 4.8cm.  Cut in from this point 5cm (2″).  Fold back each section from the end of the cut to the corner of the piece of paper.

Adhere this piece on to your white card and then on to the card base.  Adhere under each flap to hold them down.

Stamp the sentiment on the white section. This one is from the Waterfront set. I cut a flower from the Flourish Thinlits from Silver Foil.

Now you can see both side. 🙂

Have a great day,

Jenny

SOMETHING QUICK WITH THE SWEET SOIREE PAPER!

OK, Let’s chat.  Do you have lots of pretty paper sitting in your craft stash??  I can guess you do.  It looks so nice sitting there but you are scared to cut in to it or you might be saving it for a “special” project?? Yes I know.  It is tough!

So a new catalogue is coming very soon and we will have more pretty paper to collect.  We need to use this paper we have now.

SO… Let’s use it.  I am going to be sharing some projects over the next days and weeks to USE THAT PAPER.  Will you join me??  I am sharing these projects on here and Facebook and Instagram and adding #usethatpaper  So you can join in with me.

Today’s project is using that gorgeous SweetSoireepaper.  It is so pretty and I was really hesitant to use it but really …

Anyway, here is the card.

Cut the Designer Series paper about 2cm (3/4″) shorter than you would usually.  Cut off 2.5cm (1″).  Adhere them to the Whisper White card with the smaller section at the bottom of the card.  Stamp your sentiment in the white space.  This is from the set Birthday Blossoms.  The leaf is from the Flourish Thinlits cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper although you can’t see the sparkle too well.

ok. Go and grab some pretty paper and #usethatpaper

Have a happy, crafty weekend.

COLOURING THE SPRINGTIME FOILS PAPER – PART 3!

Yet even more ways to colour the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper.  The last 2 posts have shown colouring with the Blends and sponging.  (head back to see those posts if you missed them).  Today’s post is colouring the Foils paper by Swiping ink over it.

I have shared some cards doing this in past posts too.  You can see them -> HERE and HERE. The first one shows a video (as good as it is 😉 ) of inking it up.  You can see it if you dare.  Great timing for our Wednesday WOW! this week as you can go back and review that.

The piece above was actually the piece I inked up in the video in the early post so I thought why waste that.  This time I used the Flourish Thinlits.  The sentiment is from Balloon Celebration.  So pretty and soft that mini Organza ribbon.

On the card above I swiped over Bermuda Bay on to a piece of the Springtime Foils Paper.  It needed a few swipes with it and I will say it can look a bit blotchy and you think “what have I done!!”.  Once you wipe over it with a tissue it smooths it out and looks nice.  Believe me. 🙂  The sentiment is from Beautiful Day again.

So now you don’t have to leave this paper plain (or you can).  How easy is it to colour the paper with ink in different way.

So have you got this paper yet?  I hope so.  You only have until Saturday.  And it’s free too.  Stock up on some card and adhesives and maybe throw in a stamp set that is sitting on your wish list and you are there are $90.  Then pick this paper up before it is gone.  Head to my store -> HERE to order it now.

EXTRA GORGEOUSNESS FOR SALE-A-BRATION WITH THE SPRINGTIME FOILS PAPER!

The gorgeousness just keeps on coming for Sale-A-Bration.  Yesterday was the 2nd release of fantastic, beautiful new free choices that you can receive with your qualifying orders. I think you will love them.  I do. 🙂  If you haven’t seen them yet then I will show them to you in the next couple of posts.

Today I want to show you the gorgeous Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper. To be honest it really doesn’t do it justice in the catalogue but you can see them in this image.

Last week I shared a video on my Facebook page showing the sparkle and shine of this paper.  It truly is just gorgeous!  If you didn’t see it head to my page -> HERE and scroll down a little to see it.  You really must.

Today I was playing around with it.  I have seen some images of it this past week inking it so thought I would give it a whirl.  I have to say it just lifts the gorgeousness to a whole new level.  This is the finished card I made.

I posted a video on Youtube of how to colour this gorgeous paper.  It was a very quick video but might give you some idea.

Here it is for you.

If you like a visual of this then it is simply a matter of rolling over it with your sponge roller and inkpad.  It does take some time but it is worth it.  I did dab some ink on with my inkpad too.  You can do that if you get a bit impatient. Then roll over it with the roller to smooth it.

On my card to finish I cut the “celebrate” from the Celebrate You Thinlits and added the “YOU” stamped on Powder Pink.  I found that a better match with the inked paper in the end.   I finished it off with some Black Baker’s Twine and cut a vellum leaf from the Flourish Thinlits.

Hope you like it? I really think you need this paper.  It is a free choice now added for Sale-A-Bration when you have a minimum $90 order.  It doesn’t take much to get to $90 by the time you grab a stamp set and stock up on your paper and adhesives.  What about the sponge rollers?  Do you have them?

I look forward to playing more with this paper so stay tuned.

Have a great weekend,

Jenny

DID YOU KNOW STAMPIN’ UP! HAD BERMUDA BAY GLIMMER PAPER??

Well, you can make any colour you like!

You might have seen you can colour any embellishment like the Rhinestones and Pearls or ribbon with the Blends BUT I had a play with something else the other day.  Did you know you can colour the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper with the Stampin’ Blends.  Now before you rush off and try it there are a couple of important notes.

** Use the Brush Tip end of your marker and only GENTLY brush over the Glimmer Paper.  Too hard a rub may damage the nibs of your marker.

** Only colour the area exposed so you don’t waste the ink.  You can see further below.

Here is the card I made with colouring the Glimmer Paper.

This is using the set Color Me Happy now available.  I have coloured the bird and the flower with the Stampin’ Blends.   Plus I coloured the Adhesive Pearl in too.  When I assembled the card I embossed the White card mat with the Softly Falling Embossing Flower and added a strip of white that was cut with the Flourish Thinlits under the Merry Little Christmas DSP.  (Don’t just keep this paper for Christmas!).

Getting back to the Scallop Circle.  I cut a scallop Circle using the Layering Circles Thinlits from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  Then coloured just around the edge of it gently with the Dark Bermuda Bay Blends marker.   You don’t want to press hard with the marker.   Also, you only need to colour the outside edge that will be seen.

So what colour Glimmer Paper will you make??  Have fun with it.

Have a great weekend,

Jenny

A WEDDING CARD IN A HURRY!

Last Friday I was in a rush.  Josh had yet another wedding to go to.  I thought I had a wedding card made as I made up quite a few at one time a couple of months ago.  But I didn’t keep up with how many weddings he has been to lately!!!  So this was a wedding card made in a hurry.

This card changed a lot over the time I made it but in the end I went with this.  It was hard to get a good photo of it so I do apologise for the lighting.

The base is Sweet Sugarplum and the white card is embossed with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder. I only just received this folder.  I can’t believe I waited so long! The sentiment which is from Always and Forever is heat embossed by Copper Embossing Powder.  The white circle was layered on a piece of Copper Foil cut with the Layering Circle Framelits.  I played around with different things on it and wasn’t sure which way to go.  Like I had so much time to muck around with it…  In the end I cut a few of the flowers and leaves from the Flourish Thinlits.  A few loopy Copper Threads and an adhesive pearl finished it off.

I hope you like the finished result.  Maybe I should have done 2 as there is another wedding for him to go to in a couple of weeks … 🙂

Have a great weekend,

Jenny

Continuing on my ‘Beautiful You’ projects this week. I have a cute little Matchbox and mini cards to show you. The sentiments in this set can make great “pick me up” type cards to give to a friend. I have the tutorial for you below so you can make your own.

A little drawer slides out to hold the Mini cards. I am sure you could fill it with some chocolates or maybe teabags even.

STAMPIN’ UP! CATALOGUE LAUNCH – PART 2!

I have some more of the fun from my Catalogue Launch for you.  If you missed out on the first part then head back to the last post I did.  Today I want to share with you some of the stamping fun we had.

The table all set up ready to go.  I was pretty excited with the Pom Pom Flowers I found that was a fairly close match to some of the new Incolors.

Table

This was a sample of some of the new products and some cards.  I had other new products in the Product Playground that I showed in the last post.

sample table

I had some Swirly Bird card samples to share.  I have a class this coming Saturday just with the Swirly Bird stamps and the Scribbles Thinlits.  That should be a lot of fun.

Swirly Board

This was the first Make and Take using the new Flourish Thinlits.  I love the delicateness of these dies.  I found they cut surprisingly easy even with just the regular platform.  I used the new ‘Playful Palette’ DSP stack too.  The sentiment is from the new set ‘Best Birds’.

Flourish _ Peekaboo Peach

The other Make and Take was using the new Dapper Denim Incolor.  I have used the ‘Thoughful Banners’ stamp set. These banners are so easy to punch with the Duet Banner Punch.   I stamped a background on the base card with the Timeless Textures stamp set. The colours of the stripes were from the top – Night of Navy, Dapper Denim, Island Indigo, Marina Mist and Soft Sky.  I cut a scallop square mat for the white stamped card piece with the new Layering Square Framelits.  It just gives a subtle peek of the silver Foil. This card was inspired by a card I saw on a Facebook group I am on.

Dapper Denim thoughful banners

So lots of fun was had by all my lovely ladies who came.  I appreciate each and every one of them.  If you are local make sure you come along to my next launch or class to enjoy the fun.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jenny
