SPOTLIGHT TECHNIQUE WITH THE FLOWERING FOILS DESIGNER SERIES PAPER!

Have you tried the Spotlight Technique?  I haven’t done it for a while.  I thought I would try this with the Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper.

The Spotlight Technique is great when using uncoloured images on Designer Series Paper or a large background stamp that is stamped on your card mat.  The “spotlight” is a cut shape in the piece, in this case the circle, and colouring just the image in that small shaped. This spotlight “”highlights the pattern.

To create this card with the Spotlight Technique:

Cut a piece of the Designer Series Paper to 9.7cm x 14cm (4″x 5 1/4″).  Using the Layering Circles Dies cut a circle in the paper in the place that would work the best for colouring.

Colour this with the Stampin’ Blends.

Layer this piece on to a circle in co-ordinating card. Put this aside while you assemble the card.

Assemble the card by adhering the piece of Designer Series Paper to a co-ordinating card mat 10.1cm x 14.4cm (4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″) and then adhere this to a Whisper White Card mat.

Now adhere the Circle piece on to the assembled card raising it up off the card with Dimensionals.

Add a sentiment.  I heat embossed the sentiment from the Little Ladybug stamp set with White Embossing Powder and diecut that with the small Stitched Nested Labels die.  Before adhering it to the card loop some Silver Thread around.

This Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper is available for Sale-A-Bration BUT ONLY FOR ONE MORE DAY.  It’s available for qualifying orders over $90 AUD.  Check the details below to place your order and don’t forget the Host Code.  Or you can contact me directly.

Don’t miss out on it,

Jenny

RAZZLEBERRY FLOWERING FOILS!

Another Flowering Foils card for you today.  This time I have coloured one of the flowers on the flower print paper of the Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper.

I used the Rich Razzleberry and the Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. I love how you get the resist effect with the embossing on the flowers.  The paper is so easy to colour.

To finish the card I used a piece of the Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper adhered on to a white card mat and then on to the Rich Razzleberry card base.

The sentiment is from the So Sentimental stamp set and then cut with the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  On the Rich Razzleberry diecut piece I embossed that with the Layered Leaves 3D Embossing Folder to add some texture.

On the back of the sentiment pieces loop some Silver Thread on to the back and to finish a Rhinestone was coloured with the Rich Razzleberry Dark Stampin’ Blends to co-ordinate.

Both the Lily Impressions paper and the Flowering Foils Designer Series Paper are available as Sale-A-Bration choices but there is only 2 weeks left.  Grab either of these (or any of the other choices) when you shop in my store now -> HERE.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Jenny

FLOWERING FOILS FLOWERS!

I have been sharing some projects with the Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Here is another one for you.  This one uses 2 of the prints in the pack.

The flowers were coloured with the Stampin’ Blends. The flowers on the paper are embossed in Rose Gold and in Silver so the ink resists the outline.   I fussy cut the flowers out to add them to the card.  I used the lined print for the mat on the card.

The sentiment is from the Positive Thoughts stamp set.  It is heat embossed in white Embossing Powder. The black card looks striking against the paper.

Notice the ends of the black strip? To create these I punched them with the Tailored Tag Punch.  Feed the end of the strip in to the punch from the back where the window is.  This way you can see that it is straight before you punch it out.  I found that the angles were quite long so I trimmed them slightly.  You can leave them long if you like that.  I added some Adhesive Pearls to finish it.

Hope you like it.

The Flowering Foils Designer Series Paper is available as a Free Sale-A-Bration choice with your order over $90.  Be sure the grab some soon before it goes. You can order in my store now.  Head to the link shown just below.

Have a great week ahead.

SPONGING THE FLOWERING FOILS PAPER WITH A VIDEO!

I have mentioned already the gorgeous Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper.  You have probably seen lots around with it too.  Today I have a card to share with you using this paper and a video to show how you can very easily add the colour to the paper with the sponge rollers.

This card is inspired by a card in the 2nd release Sale-A-Bration brochure (p3)  I changed it up a little.

Here is the card.

Check the video below.

I used the Stitched So Sweetly Dies on the card and the sentiment is from So Sentimental. The card in the brochure uses one of these sentiments too but I just wanted to keep it simple rather than cutting around the sentiment seen on that card.  It does give it a good effect when you do that.

The leaves are from the Birthday Dies.  These are available as Co-ordination products that go with the Happy Birthday To You stamp set also for Sale-A-Bration.

The Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper is only available for March during Sale-A-Bration (or while supplies last) so you want to grab them soon.  You receive them as your free choice with orders over $90.  Check out my store now -> HERE.

Have fun sponging and colouring this paper.

FLOWERING FOILS FAVOURITE FOR SALE-A-BRATION 2ND RELEASE!

Today is the 2nd release for Sale-A-Bration.  As if you didn’t have enough choices right!

You can see all the items in the catalogue -> HERE.

Of course there are some great choices.  I have to say though my favourite is the Flowering Foils Designer Series Paper.

We have had similar paper in past years.  These are just (if not more) as gorgeous.

There are 12 12″x 12″ white sheets with embossed designs in Rose Gold and Silver.  There are 4 designs and 3 of each sheet.

You can leave them plain or colour them with a sponge/dauber or with the Stampin’ Blends.

This is one of the cards I created with the paper coloured with the Stampin’ Blends.  I have used the Balmy Blue and coloured the background then used the Daffodil Delight for the flower centres.

The sentiment is from the Positive Thoughts stamp set.  Such lovely words.  I had the vellum diecut from the Flourishes Dies left over from another project and it worked well with this.

It’s hard to tell in the photo but I have used the ornate die strip from the Nature’s Thoughts Dies. You can see it better in the photo below.

These projects are created by Stampin’ Up! artists but it shows how pretty the paper is sponged.

So how do you get yourself some of this Flowering Foils paper??

It’s available free as part of Sale-A-Bration with orders over $90 AUD until the end of March.

In Australia?  Head to my store now -> HERE and shop for your stamps, ink paper.  When your order totals over $90 you can select this as your free item.

There are other choices too and other options for over $180 too.  Don’t miss them.

Happy Shopping – and creating. 🙂

Have a great day,

Jenny
