NATURE’S POEM CARDS FOR YOU!

I have my classes on this weekend using the Nature’s Poem Suite.  This has become a popular bundle for many people.  I wasn’t sure about it at first but I have recently got them so I thought I would share a few cards with you that I have made.

I have shared a few cards with this bundle before.  If you want to check on those be sure to click on the tag for “nature’s poem”.  Here is one post -> HERE to get you started on though.

Here are a couple more cards.

For this first one I stamped some of the leaves over white card to create a background.    I added a short length of the Burlap ribbon behind the oval sentiment and then added one of the diecut leaves stamped in Early Espresso.  I am really not sure of this though.  I think it is too heavy.  What do you think?

For this one below I was trying a few different things.  I liked the words separated.  I really like this sentiment. I know a few people who I could use this saying for.  If you notice the white background there are some embossed leaves on it.  In the Nature’s Roots Framelits set there are some leaves that don’t cut but emboss your card.  That’s pretty cool.

The rest of the card is fairly simple with a strip of the Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper, Grapefruit Grove twine and the tree stamped in Early Espresso and die cut out.

I hope you like them.

Thanks again for visiting me.  I love that you stop on by. Please visit again. 🙂

Have a great day,

Jenny

DRESS UP YOUR CARDS WITH AN ENVELOPE SATCHEL!

I had a thought the other day to make a fancy little SATCHEL ENVELOPE BAG for a special card.  Why give it in a boring white envelope!  So here it is.

Here it is with the card.  I actually made the card a few weeks ago.

This is so easy to make.  The longest part is the decorating.  I will show you how.

CREATE YOUR OWN ENVELOPE SATCHEL

NB: Check the pattern on the piece of Designer Series Paper you use.  When you fold it half the pattern at the back will be upside down.  You want an all-over pattern.

1. Cut your piece of 12″x12″ Designer Series Paper in half vertically. I used the Share What You Love Specialty DSP.

2. Score it on the short side at 1.2cm (1/2″).  Turn your piece 180″ score it at 1.2cm (1/2″).  You should have 2 score lines running down each long side.

3. Turn your piece 90′  Score it at half way – 15.2cm (6″).  Fold on the scored lines.

4. Cut up on each of the score lines in the lower half of the section and the cut these off.  Check the photo below.

5. Add adhesive to the outside of the long tabs. Fold up the bottom piece and carefully adhere the two sides together lining them up on the edges.

There is your satchel already.

To decorate:

Cut a strip of co-ordinating card about 2 cm wide (3/4″).  This is the length of a full sheet of card.  Score one end at 1.2cm (1/2″).  Add adhesive to the back of this short end.  Fold around the back of the satchel at the top.  Add adhesive to the rest of the strip on the back of it and adhere this along the top edge going right across the front around to the back on the other side. Trim off any over-hang if need be.

For the handles cut a strip the length of a sheet of card and at approximately 1.2cm (1/2″) wide.  Cut the strip in half.  Firstly, to help the strip curve gently run it back and forth along the edge of the desk top or similar.  Add adhesive to the ends of each strip on the back of it.  Place one end in position on the front of the bag. Gently curve the strip and adhere the other end on to the front.  Repeat with the other strip for the back.

To finish, cut 2 ovals from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Cut them both in half.  Adhere these over the ends of the strip on the front and the back.  Add pearls to finish if you like.

I made a more masculine version.  Not sure of this one but what do you think?

This one is made from the Nature’s Poem DSP.  I added the strip across the top edge.  Instead of adding handles I added a ‘V’ Shape strip and added some gems to the front.  Is it “manly” enough? Maybe I should make it  more of a tie shape.

EDITED TO ADD: I have been pondering on this last project for the past few days.  I wasn’t particularly happy with it.  So today I changed things up a bit and thought I would show you. I am still not sure about it but I think it is a bit better. It’s not any worse anyway. 🙂

OK, I hope you like these dressed up satchels for your cards.  Do you think you would make them?  You could easily add a Gift Card in it and even maybe a small bar of chocolate.

Have a great day.  See you again soon,

Jenny

TEAM SHOEBOX SWAP – DAY 3!

Some more cards today from our Team Shoebox Swap.  Really we have some amazing talent in our Inky Fingers Team.

Today I will share the cards using the Rooted in Nature Bundle.

This one below is using a number of different patterns from the Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper. I like how the words are cut apart.

This one below is just gorgeous.  A white card mat is embossed with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder.  I hadn’t seen this folder used before.  I like it.  You should see those leaves in real life.  They are heat embossed in Copper on to Vellum.  So nice.  The other leaves are embossed with one of the leaf embossed dies in the Nature’s Roots Framelits set.  The sentiment is heat embossed in copper too.  This is such a striking card.

I hope you like these ones.  Yes still more to come.  It was a busy day at our team meeting. 🙂

5 WAYS WITH PAPER – #5!

OK, last one in this series of 5 Ways with Paper.  Have you been inspired by them?  Hope so anyway. 🙂

Today’s card in inspired by this card from Julie’s Stamping Spot.

I liked the strips and having the contrast card on it.  I changed mine around a little.  I think I will use this idea more often.  I do love that Tranquil Tide colour though too.

The Crumb cake strip is embossed with one of the Petal Pair embossing folders. The sentiment is from the Southern Serenade.

TO CREATE YOUR OWN:

You can make the strips any size but I will tell you the measurements of mine.  I like the different widths of the strips.

Whisper White card mat is 9.5cm x 13.8cm (3 3/4″ x 5 3/8″)

Strips measure: Left – 4.5cm x 13.4cm (1 3/4″ x 5 1/4″)

Centre – 3cm x 13.4cm (1 1/9″ x 5 1/4′)

Right – 1.5cm x 13.4cm (5/8″ x 5 1/4″)

Thanks for stopping by today.  Be sure to drop a comment occasionally.  I love to hear what you think and where you are from.

Don’t forget though there is only one week left of the Designer Series Paper Sale where you can choose 1 free pack when you purchase 3.

5 WAYS WITH PAPER – #4!

Today – DAY 4 of “5 WAYS WITH PAPER”.  What have you thought so far??

Today’s card – why not feature the paper! With all the beautiful prints you can use them just as they are.

This lovely print from Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper is so detailed with the veins of the leaves.  I decided to make a Sympathy card with this paper.  Good to always have on hand sadly.

It’s a very simple layout with a window highlighting the paper.  The leaves are from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. I cut one from Crumb Cake and one from Vellum.  The sentiment is from the Better Together set.

Last one tomorrow.  Hope you will tune in.  I have had fun creating with the papers.  I should do more of it.  How about you?

5 WAYS WITH PAPER – DAY 3!

Today’s card #3 using your paper is such an easy card.  This card was inspired by one some time ago by Barbstamps, even before Pinterest.  I had it filed away for a while with lots of other ideas.

I have used the Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper.

TO CREATE YOUR OWN

Take a piece slightly smaller than your card base.  Cut it in half.  Flip one side over and adhere the pieces on to your card base.  Really it is that simple.  You could cut it in 2/3 – 1/3.  Position the card in landscape or portrait orientation.  So many different ways.  You get to see both sides of the gorgeous Stampin’ Up! patterns.

Decorate your card as you like to.  For this one I stamped the sentiment from Accented Blooms and punched it out with the Tailored Tag Punch.  I punched a second label out from Cajun Craze card.  Cut it in half across ways and adhered that behind the stamped one to show an edge top and bottom.  Easy! I went a little wild with the Copper Thread. 🙂  Raise your sentiment off with Dimensionals and you are done.  This makes a great masculine card even.

Thanks for visiting.  Stay tuned for tomorrow as I have another card for you.  Don’t forget to #usethat paper you have around.

AN OMBRE ONE FOR ALL!

I have another card for you with the One For All. I think this is my favourite.

Since I had the Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper out from the card I shared yesterday I added a piece of this on the Tranquil Tide card base. For the sentiment I inked it first with Mint Macaron ink.  Then sponged Tranquil Tide on part of the lower letters before stamping it on white card.  It needed a little colour so I added some strips of Grapefruit Grove and Mint Macaron card that I flagged the ends of to add behind the white card.  The piece was raised up off the card with Dimensionals.

The girl on the bike was stamped in black and cut out. It needed something when I laid it on the card so I looped some Silver Threads behind it. It was raised up off the card with Dimensionals.

Hope you like this sweet card.

ONE FOR ALL WITH NATURE’S POEM!

I have recently got the One For All set.  I really loved this one when I saw it in the catalogue.  I don’t know why it appealed to me particularly.  Perhaps the whimsical nature of it or just the fact that I go bike riding a bit.  It was a must-have though.

Over this last weekend I played a lot with it and I have a number of cards to show you.  This was the first one I made.

I kept it simple to start with.  On the Tranquil Tide base card I added a strip of the Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper.  On the White card I stamped the girl in Tranquil Tide ink.  Just a note on this: I cut the sentiment off the girl image on the stamp so it could be more versatile.

The sentiment was stamped on Crumb Cake card and cut with the larger circle in the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I sponged around the edge with Crumb Cake ink.

Before adhering the white stamped piece on the card I sponged around the edge and then looped around some of the Crumb Cake Nature’s Twine.

A simple card! Come back and see a few more with this set.  I have loved using this set.

Here is another card we made at Onstage last month using the Nature’s Poem Suite.  If you like the Lovely As A Tree stamp set you will LOVE this! Lots of nice trees and leaves.  Great for masculine cards.  I can show you more with the set later but for now you can see the card.

The Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper is just lovely.  What about those little Leaves Trickets?  There are 2 different shape leaves in the set and they come in Copper and Silver.  You can also get the Thick Twine in a set.  This colour is the new Incolor Grapefruit Grove.

Hope you like it.
