cards, Personal Ramblings

I was asked recently by a friend to make a 1st Birthday card for her Grand-daughter.  All the requirements was that it was to be bright and fun.

So this is the result.  She was pleased with it.  It’s not her Grand-daughter’s birthday yet but I know that it is safe to post here.  You won’t tell right … 😉

I used the Number of Years set and the Large Numbers Framelits.  I am sad both these are going.  They are great for special numbered birthday cards.  I also used the Balloon Celebrations set for the bright, fun balloons.  They are easily cut with the Balloon Bouquet Punch.  The colours used for the balloons are Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight.  The card mat is Tempting Turquoise and the card base is Melon Mambo.  The Tempting Turquoise is a retiring colour.  A great big ‘1’ was cut from Silver Glimmer Paper.

The card was inspired by one on Pinterest.  I am not sure by whom now.

I hope you have had a wonderful weekend and maybe some stamping time??

Have a great week.  Visit again soon,

cards, Personal Ramblings

I had the pleasure of making 2 special 90th Birthday cards the last couple of weeks.  I thought I would show you them.

This first one requested by a friend for a lovely old friend of hers.

I pulled out the Number of Years set and the Large Numbers Framelits for it.  The card was inspired by one on Pinterest.  The “90” needed something to lift it so I added a square cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits in Copper Foil and added a few loops with the Copper Thread. The sentiment is from the Blooms and Wishes set.

This next card I sent to a special lady.  I didn’t know her but I know what a milestone 90 is and I heard she was going to be having a very quiet birthday.  I couldn’t let this special milestone slip by.

I added a piece of the Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP to a white card base.  Cut a square with the Stitched Shapes Framelits in Vellum to sit the silver “90” on.  It’s hard to adhere vellum so I added a couple of dabs with Snail Adhesive under where the numbers would sit. Then sentiment is from Happy Birthday Gorgeous.

Two special cards for 2 lovely ladies.  I hope they had a lovely celebration in the end.

Have a wonderful week.

Have you joined in with ‘We Stamp For Lara’ yet?  My project is released today.  Here is a sneak peek for you.

I shared all the details in a recent blog post.  This is a fundraiser event for a special little girl.  Lara has so many medical challenges.  We are seeking to raise money to get a special mattress for her that can help turn her in the night.  You can read all about it in this blog post HERE.

For $15 you receive 1 tutorial a day for 15 days.  All the money raised goes directly to help young Lara and her family.  You can join anytime during the time (2nd May – 15th May) and still access all the tutorials.  Tutorials are available on a special Facebook group. If you are not on Facebook then they can be emailed to you. You can comment or email me here if you would like to join in.  Payment is made by Bank Transfer or Paypal.

We are mainly focusing on  the ‘Number of Years’ stamp set and matching Framelits.  To help with the fundraising too I am donating my commission to ‘We Stamp For Lara’ when you purchase the ‘Number of Years’ set and framelits.  Buy the Bundle and save money.  These are available in the new Catalogue but not as a Bundle so get them now.

Bundle Price is $85.75.  (Stamp set alone is $47, Framelits are $54 – so great value!)
