WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #61 – BOTANICAL BUTTERFLIES GIFT BAG!

Wednesday’s WOW! #61.  I have something special today.  I hope you like it.  I am featuring the Botanical Butterflies Designer Series Paper all week.  Of course you can use any paper for these projects but how pretty is this paper – and bonus because it is free!

Today I want to show you this cutie Butterfly bag.  I have the tutorial below for you.

For the cute tag above I punched a butterfly from a scrap piece of the paper using the Butterfly Duet Punch. I used the Detailed Trio Punch on the white tag. The sentiment is from Beauty Abounds.

Here is the side view.

This is such an easy Gift Bag to make and it only uses 1/2 sheet of the Designer Series Paper.  You can make a few in no time.

BUTTERFLY GIFT BAG

METRIC MEASUREMENTS:

30.5cm x 15cm.

Score on the long side at 12cm, 14.5cm, 26.5cm and 29cm.

Score on the short side at 2.5cm and 12.5cm.

IMPERIAL MEASUREMENTS:

12” x 6”.

Score on the long side at 4 ¾”, 5 ¾”, 10 ½”, and 11 ½”

Score on the short side at 1” and 5”.

With the paper in landscape orientation, cut up on the scored lines along the bottom up to the score line.  Angle the cuts if you prefer so the tabs will sit better when they are folded up.

Fold on all the score lines.  On the top score lines fold the paper forward to show the other side of the paper.  Adhere this down on to the front.  See the photo to show it clearer.

Place adhesive on the narrow side tab and fold the paper to form a box shape.  Adhere this narrow tab to join the other side.  Place adhesive to the bottom small tabs.  Fold up and then adhere the long tabs at the bottom to form the box.

HANDLES:

Card strip – 2 @ 1.2cm x 14.8cm.

2 @ ½” x 6”

For the handles: Firstly, take a strip and run it up and down on the edge of the table.  This helps curve the card and breaks down the tissue a little.

Place adhesive on each end of one strip, Position one end inside the bag at the top.  Gently curve the strip and adhere the other end to the inside of the bag.  Repeat the same for the second strip on the other side.

Have fun creating them,

Jenny

BOTANICAL BUTTERFLY PAPER WITH BLENDS!

It’s a Botanical Butterflies Week this week.

I will share a number of projects with you using the gorgeous Botanical Butterflies Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration.  There is only 2 weeks left for this gorgeous paper so let’s get it out and use it.  It follows my theme from posts some time ago to #usethatpaper

I used a piece of the small black and white butterfly print and coloured the butterflies with the Stampin’ Blends.  It is such an easy way to add colour. I used the Balmy Blue and the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. I think looking at it now I should have added some bright green like the Granny Apple Green on parts of the “wisps”.  I also coloured one butterfly from the paper and cut it out to add on the sentiment.

The sentiment is from Butterfly Gala and cut with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits.  I cut a 2nd rectangle in Daffodil Delight card and adhered it underneath the sentiment.  Perhaps I should have done some silver under there instead.  I did this card weeks ago and I can see so many things I would do differently.  But anyway, perhaps it will inspire you in some way and know that you can colour the paper with the Stampin’ Blends.

Have a closer look at this paper.  Keep in mind that there is only 2 weeks left to grab this as your free choice.  It could be sooner if it runs out so don’t delay on this.

Also, note:  There is a small supply of this Organdy Ribbon back in stock too as your Sale-A-Bration choice but that won’t stay around long either.

Watch out this week as I bring some more projects using this pretty paper.

HIGHLAND HEATHER – INCREDIBLE LIKE YOU!

I am going to share this card with you. To be honest I am not overly happy with it. I think it’s the stamped flowers?? They don’t look right. I have trouble with stamp sets that have small images in it that you stamp together to make an image.  I like to stamp one or 2 stamps and you are done.  So this was outside my comfort zone.  Anyway, I am sharing it with you.  You can like it or not but maybe it will inspire you to create something … 😉

The paper is from the Sale-A-Bration Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper and also there is the lovely Organdy Ribbon.  Sad that this is finished with.

There is not much more I need to say about the card.  It is easy to copy if you are up for it.  If this inspires you in some way I would love to see your version.  Do email me at jghayward@yahoo.com

The Incredible Like You set is a very versatile set.  Lots of ways to use these stamps.  How would you use them?

This set is available in my store -> HERE for $28 AUS.  Please use the Host Code: TTBQMGUT It has been quite popular actually.  You can grab it for yourself.

CRAFT ALIVE TREATS!

Last post I showed you some photos of Craft Alive the show we attended a few weeks ago.  If you missed that post with some of the highlights then head back a post.

Today I want to show you some little treats I created.

First off I made these little Easel calendars for the 3 other ladies on our show team.  I invited each of them on this crazy ride with me and wanted to give them a gift.  I made this for their little gift pack to say Thank You to them.

These were so easy to make.  Without giving you specific measurements I will tell you how they are made so they can work for metric or imperial measurements.

MAKE YOUR OWN EASEL CALENDARS

Take a sheet of card and cut it in half vertically.  Put one half aside. With the other length you have, score the piece in half. Then score one of the sections in half again.  Then fold on the score lines.  Fold it firstly in at the half way line, then fold the other score line inwards. The larger section is the base part.  The smaller equal sections are folded.  Does that make sense?

You will also need an additional card piece that can be adhered on to the front.  This piece is the same width as the card and you can make it any height.  I made it the same height as the base length.  In other words, the other piece of cardstock you put aside at the beginning, cut that in half and it will be the right length.  I hope that all makes sense.  Really it is the idea of it.  The actual measurements are entirely up to you.  Decorate as you like.  I had pieces of the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper that I decorated the front with and a butterfly from the Butterfly Gala stamp set.

I also needed to make some tags up for the prize gifts.  Stampin’ Up! were very generous in donating a box full of retired products.  We made up so many prize packs and gave away several per day.

I have one of each colour of the tags I made using the lovely Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper and the Amazing Life stamp set.

I hope you like these.  I think everyone who received one loved the tag…. or maybe it was all the lovely Stampin’ Up! products they received.  They were very excited anyway.

Thanks for visiting me again today,

Jenny

WELL WRITTEN FRAMELITS MAKES QUICK TAGS!

I needed to make some quick tags last week.  There was not a lot of time before I had to get them out in the post.  What to do??? …

I found the Well Written Framelits Dies that I had recently ordered.  Quick tags in minutes with these little beauties.

The white card measures approximately 5cm x 10.5cm (2″x 4″).  I punched the end with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch and added a small strip of the Gingham Gala paper stack.  Using the Framelits I cut the “hooray”in black and the little flower stem in Lemon Lime Twist and a flower in Calypso Coral.  Finished off with a little ribbon from the Organdy Ribbon Combo pack. Very quick and easy to put together.

The Well Written Framelits are very useful.  They are $70 AUS in store -> HERE.

You can use them on their own or team them with the Well Said stamp set as a bundle. $132.25 AUS Grab the bundle in store -> HERE.

You can make these quick tags for any occasion.  Dress them up more if you like.

Thanks for stopping by,

Jenny
