HAND-PENNED CARD SET WITH BASIC BORDERS DIES!

Today I have 5 very simple cards to share with you. I created these as samples for my launch a few weeks ago. I have used the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper.

They might be simple but let me tell you what they show.

  1. They show a different print of the gorgeous Hand-Penned paper on each card.
  2. They show a decorative edge with a different die from the Basic Borders Dies.
  3. Each card has a different sentiment from the Many Messages stamp set cut with a different shape from the Messages Die.
  4. Each card has co-ordinating ribbon as an accent. The ribbon is the White Crinkled Seam Binding coloured with the Stampin’ Blends. (How cool is it to be able to get matching colours)

To finish I added an Opal Round or an Adhesive Pearl on each one.

I have added a vellum leaf under the sentiment punched out with the Sprig Punch.

Cards in a hurry that’s what they are. Probably the longest part was colouring the ribbon.

Check them out closer.

Mint Macaron

Daffodil Delight

Highland Heather

Cinnamon Cider

Blushing Bride

Very simple but I hope you like them.

Happy Stamping,

Jenny

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #101- CREATING DEPTH WITH COLOURED IMAGES!

Wednesday’s WOW #101.  Today I wanted to show you a little tip with colouring your images and how to create depth.

Firstly though.  Last Wednesday I had a little Giveaway.  Congratulations to Lynne C for winning the Little Ladybug Stamp set.  I will be in touch with you soon.

Back to our WOW!

I recently created this card with the retiring Accented Blooms set.  I wanted to give this a little ink up one more time before it retires.  It’s been a while since I have played with it.

I coloured it with the Stampin’ Blends.  I cut the white card with the Stitched Rectangles Dies But I added a little “new” with the Ornate Layers Dies by cutting the Calypso Coral card mat.

But this is what I wanted to show you.  You can give the appearance of depth to your image in a very simple way. Take a closer look below.

When I finished colouring I outlined the image with a lighter colour Stampin’ Blends.  This one I used the Light Pool Party.  I have used Light Smoky Slate at times too and even Petal Pink.  It just depends on the look you want.

I hope you try that trick next time you colour your images.

Thanks for visiting me.

Have an awesome day wherever you are.

ESAD 2020 MINI CATALOGUE AND SALE-A-BRATION BLOG HOP!

Time for another ESAD Blog Hop.  This time we are sharing projects from the new 2020 Mini Catalogue and Sale-A-Bration.  I can’t wait to see what everyone has created.  You might have come from Cathy’s Blog -> HERE or starting from this blog.  The full list of participants will be below.

Firstly with the Blog Hop.  What is ESAD anyway??

Now for my project.  It’s a very hard decision to work out what you are going to use with these Blog Hops.  There are so many new and exciting products.  What’s a person to do?? 🙂  In the end I chose to use the new So Sentimental Bundle because I love the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  I think many people will love them.  I have made a few projects with them recently but today I have this one to share with you.

I created a card and a little treat holder with the Kraft Pillow boxes.

With the card you don’t need too much with the gorgeous Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper.  Add a piece of this to a Granny Apple Green card mat and add this to the Poppy Parade card base.  The Granny Apple Green is not a colour that is featured in the paper but I think it gives it a little POP against the Poppy Parade colour.

The sentiment from the So Sentimental stamp set was stamped on white and cut with one of the label shapes in the Stitched So Sweetly Dies set.  This was layered on to a piece of Granny Apple Green cut with one of the other label die shapes.  It’s hard to tell but I embossed the green card with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder to give it some texture.

I tied around some Granny Apple Green Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.

Wait, what?? Granny Apple Green Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.  Where is that in the catalogue??

It’s actually the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon on p 25 of the 2020 Mini Catalogue.  You can create any colour ribbon you like with the Stampin’ Blends.

Check it out below.  Just run along the ribbon with the Stampin’ Blends Marker. It dries quickly and ready to use on your projects.

Now for the Treat Holder.

Assemble the Kraft Pillow Box. Then wrap a strip of the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper around the Pillow Box.  I wrapped around some more ribbon I had coloured around the box too.

The label for this box was using a different stamp in the So Sentimental stamp set and cut with different dies in the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  The Granny Apple Green card was embossed with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder as well.

If you haven’t noticed the So Sentimental Bundle you can find it on p 20 of the Mini Catalogue. It has the different label shapes and Stitched Scalloped Rectangle dies of varying sizes. Great for layering together.  Available for $56 AUD.

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #72 + BIRD BALLAD WEEK DAY 3 – COLOURING THE PRETTY BIRDS!

Today is a double Whammy for you.  We have Wednesday’s WOW!  and also we are up to Day 3 of my Bird Ballad Week.  Today I have a video for you. I have been colouring the little birds and the flowers from the Free As A Bird stamp set so thought I would actually share a video with you.

This is the card I will show you how to colour in the video.

See the video below.  Bare in mind that this is a new area for me so it’s a work in progress AND I have a bit of a cold so the volume might be a bit quiet.  Just turn up your volume and watch away.  And you can fast forward in parts of the colouring. 🙂  I will work on that too.  I do appreciate your feedback though.  Good or bad – I can handle it.   Thank You. 🙂

I really like the Stampin’ Blends for colouring.  They make it so easy to get the contrast in colours.  I love that a lot of the images with Stampin’ Up! have shading on different parts of the image so you can follow these to get the contrast as well with the Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends.

I hope you found this helpful?  Would you  like more videos like this?  Constructive criticisms welcome.

I still have more to show you with this bundle so be sure to stop by again tomorrow as we continue our Bird Ballad Week,

Jenny

BIRD BALLAD WEEK – DAY 2 – MORE WITH THE GORGEOUS PAPER!

I have 2 more cards for you forDay 2 of Bird Ballad Week.  These use the gorgeous Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper again and now with a little colouring with the Stampin’ Blends.

This one above is another really quick card.  This little birdie was coloured with the Petal Pink and the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.  It was inspired by the sweet birds on the paper.  I just added some of the gorgeous Mint Macaron Ribbon.

For this one above I diecut a window using the new Stitched Nested Labels Dies in the Calypso Coral card base. I added a piece of the Bird Ballad paper behind it.  To cover it on the inside of the card I adhered a piece of white card over it.  You don’t have to do that if you don’t want to. I just thought that would make it look neater on the inside.

Back to the front of the card I stamped some small flowers in Calypso Coral ink over the front of the card and added a “thank you” – nervously I must admit as I didn’t want to mess it up.  But all good that worked.

On some additional Thick Whisper White I stamped some of the flowers and leaves in Memento Black ink and coloured them in with the Stampin’ Blends.  These were fussy cut out.

Thanks for visiting me again today.  See you tomorrow for some more pretty birds.

BOTANICAL BUTTERFLY PAPER WITH BLENDS!

It’s a Botanical Butterflies Week this week.

I will share a number of projects with you using the gorgeous Botanical Butterflies Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration.  There is only 2 weeks left for this gorgeous paper so let’s get it out and use it.  It follows my theme from posts some time ago to #usethatpaper

I used a piece of the small black and white butterfly print and coloured the butterflies with the Stampin’ Blends.  It is such an easy way to add colour. I used the Balmy Blue and the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. I think looking at it now I should have added some bright green like the Granny Apple Green on parts of the “wisps”.  I also coloured one butterfly from the paper and cut it out to add on the sentiment.

The sentiment is from Butterfly Gala and cut with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits.  I cut a 2nd rectangle in Daffodil Delight card and adhered it underneath the sentiment.  Perhaps I should have done some silver under there instead.  I did this card weeks ago and I can see so many things I would do differently.  But anyway, perhaps it will inspire you in some way and know that you can colour the paper with the Stampin’ Blends.

Have a closer look at this paper.  Keep in mind that there is only 2 weeks left to grab this as your free choice.  It could be sooner if it runs out so don’t delay on this.

Also, note:  There is a small supply of this Organdy Ribbon back in stock too as your Sale-A-Bration choice but that won’t stay around long either.

Watch out this week as I bring some more projects using this pretty paper.

CRAFT ALIVE TREATS!

Last post I showed you some photos of Craft Alive the show we attended a few weeks ago.  If you missed that post with some of the highlights then head back a post.

Today I want to show you some little treats I created.

First off I made these little Easel calendars for the 3 other ladies on our show team.  I invited each of them on this crazy ride with me and wanted to give them a gift.  I made this for their little gift pack to say Thank You to them.

These were so easy to make.  Without giving you specific measurements I will tell you how they are made so they can work for metric or imperial measurements.

MAKE YOUR OWN EASEL CALENDARS

Take a sheet of card and cut it in half vertically.  Put one half aside. With the other length you have, score the piece in half. Then score one of the sections in half again.  Then fold on the score lines.  Fold it firstly in at the half way line, then fold the other score line inwards. The larger section is the base part.  The smaller equal sections are folded.  Does that make sense?

You will also need an additional card piece that can be adhered on to the front.  This piece is the same width as the card and you can make it any height.  I made it the same height as the base length.  In other words, the other piece of cardstock you put aside at the beginning, cut that in half and it will be the right length.  I hope that all makes sense.  Really it is the idea of it.  The actual measurements are entirely up to you.  Decorate as you like.  I had pieces of the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper that I decorated the front with and a butterfly from the Butterfly Gala stamp set.

I also needed to make some tags up for the prize gifts.  Stampin’ Up! were very generous in donating a box full of retired products.  We made up so many prize packs and gave away several per day.

I have one of each colour of the tags I made using the lovely Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper and the Amazing Life stamp set.

I hope you like these.  I think everyone who received one loved the tag…. or maybe it was all the lovely Stampin’ Up! products they received.  They were very excited anyway.

Thanks for visiting me again today,

Jenny

BIRTHDAY CHEER WITH THE STAMPIN’ BLENDS!

I have another card for you using the Birthday Cheer Bundle.  This was another card we made at class last week.

Some tips to make your own.

Firstly, cut the White card piece with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits die before you stamp. Then you know where to stamp your images.

The images need to be stamped in Memento Black ink so it can be coloured with the Stampin’ Blends.  The smaller sentiment is stamped on  a strip of Mint Macaron.  Rather than flag the ends of the strip or punch it with a Banner punch or a die I decided to keep it straight and wrap some of the Nature’s Twine around it.

On the Rich Razzleberry card mat first stamp your images in Razzleberry ink on the card and then run it through the Big Shot with the Subtle Embossing Folder.  It adds just a little texture to the card.  I really love this folder for creating the light texture. I think it gets missed in the catalogue.

The Birthday Cheer Bundle and the Subtle Embossing Folder are now available in my store now -> HERE.  Please use the Host Code: Q6XB6QR6  OR you can contact me directly.

Thanks for your order.  I appreciate each and every one of them.  Be sure not to mark your order anonymous or I won’t be able to send you out  your small gift.

Thanks for visiting.  I am off this weekend to the huge Craft Alive show. I am holding a booth there with 3 other wonderful demonstrator friends. It has been months  and months of planning and work.  I am exhausted already to be honest but I hope it goes well.

I will tell you more about it next week.

Have a great weekend,

Jenny

12 WEEKS OF CHRISTMAS – WEEK 12 – CHRISTMAS CRATE!

Here we are.  Week 12 of our 12 Weeks of Christmas Series.  When I started this series I thought it was so far off to the end.  It has come around so quickly.  I hope you have enjoyed the projects I have shared over the last 12 weeks.  Today is a fun Christmas treat box.

It’s a Christmas crate.  Fill it with treats to give as a gift but wouldn’t it look great as a place marker on a table for Christmas.

The So Santa set works so well for our hot summer Christmas events.  No snow here in Australia. Sun, sand and seashells right? 🙂

To make the crate I used the Wood Crate Framelits.  Simply cut 2 from Real Red cardstock and assemble as normal.  Before I assembled the box I stamped over it with the Holly Strand in several places.

I measured the width of the crate to know what size width for the red cardstock.  Look what else I have used?? The Rectangle Stitched Framelits.  Brand new coming in the Occasions Catalogue on January 3rd. I am so excited for these.

The So Santa image was stamped on Thick Whisper White and coloured with the Stampin’ Blends.  And look also, a new Stampin’ Blends colour – Balmy Blue. I like to outline the images when I colour them in light Smoky Slate blend.  It helps to add depth to your images and make them POP!

I added a little dazzle with Silver Glimmer Paper punched with the Duet Banner Punch.  I cut the banner in half and adhered it under the sentiment to extend the length.  The sentiment was cut with one of the smaller Rectangle Stitched Framelits.

I hope you have enjoyed this series.  It’s been fun.  If you missed some of the projects over the last few months then click on the tag for 12 Weeks of Christmas and it will show  you all of them.  It might be a bit late for this Christmas but you could file it away (or  PIN them) for later.

Thanks for following me along,

Jenny
