UNDER MY UMBRELLA MINI CARD BOX

Yesterday I shared the swaps I received at our Team Recognition Day. Today I wanted to share with you our project we made.

It is a very cute mini card box made with the Gold Pizza Boxes and 3 little cards and envelopes. It was designed by our team leader Vanessa. I just have to show you.

This shows the mini cards inside the Gold Pizza Boxes. I love seeing them peek through the window.

To cut the window in the Pizza Boxes, use one of the circle dies in the Layering Circles Dies set. From the piece of Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper cut the scallop circle then use the same size circle as used on the box to cut the centre out of the scallop circle to layer over the window. Place a piece of acetate inside the box window.

Here are the mini notecards. They had a piece of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) on the card front. The cute umbrellas from the Under the Umbrella stamp set were stamped on the pieces of DSP and punched out. The boots were hand-cut. A strip of the DSP lined the back of the envelopes. I realised now too that I forgot to trim the paper on the envelopes to curve them. I will fix that up but keep that in mind when creating them.

Isn’t this just a cute set. It makes a lovely gift.

Any of these products are available in my store to create them or if you need any other products.

A SPECIAL BELLA CARD!

I think it is safe to share this card with you now.  I made this card for a lovely friend who is not well.  I am not sure if she has received it yet.  It had to head across to the other side of the world.  I don’t think she stalks here though so that is all good. 🙂

I wanted a special card and I had just received Bella and Friends – and my new Watercolor Pencils.  So gave these all a whirl.

bellas-balloon

Bella was stamped on Shimmery White Paper and then cut out with the Project Life Framelits.  The image was coloured with the Watercolor Pencils and then I used the Aquapainter to blend the colours.  I tell you these colours blend so smoothly. When it dried I lightly went over the image with the pencils to add highlights.  I also went around the image with the Basic Gray pencil very lightly and blended that. This adds some depth to your image.

To Assemble the Card:

A piece of the Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper ‘Carried Away’ was adhered to a Mint Macaron card base.  Then the image was raised up with Dimensionals.  The clouds were punched out from the Tree Builder Punch and sponged around the edges with Mint Macaron ink.  The sentiment was then stamped on to Crumb Cake card and punched out with the Duet Banner Punch.  Then sponged around the edge with Crumb Cake ink.

Did you see the sparkly balloon?  I went over that with the Wink of Stella.

Thanks for visiting me today and seeing my special Bella card.

BEAUTIFUL YOU WATERCOLOURED!

I have finally  had a chance to play with some new products.  I have been so busy with Christmas and all these new toys have been sitting there looking at me.  The first thing I pulled out was the set ‘Beautiful You’ and the Watercolor Pencils.  I was really keen to give them a try.

This is the set of cards I created with them.

beautiful-you-_-group

I kept the layout the same with each card.  I will tell you how I created them below.

The image:  There are 3 beautiful line images in this set.  I stamped each one on a square of Thick Whisper White using Black Stazon.  It is fine to use this thicker white card to do a little watercolouring.   I coloured around the images with the Watercolor Pencils.  Then using the Aquapainter I gave it a wash over to blend the colours.  These pencils just blend so smoothly.

The Paper squares: I wanted to keep the layout fairly simple.  I layered the image onto squares of Sahara Sand and then on to squares of the ‘Falling In Love’ DSP coming in the Occasions catalogue. This is such gorgeous paper.  Although I seem to have hidden most of it under the squares!!  Each of the squares are the same size measuring 8cm x 8cm (4″x 4″).  I fanned them out before adhering them to the base card.

Assembling the card: The “squiggly” line stamp was stamped over the base card with the co-ordinating ink colour.

The sentiment:  There are some really lovely sentiments in this set.  I used the “celebrate” on each one stamping them on a strip of Whisper White cardstock. One was just using that word.  Then on one card I coloured the “you” on one of the sentiments with the Black Marker and stamped that with the “celebrate”.  That’s the great thing with clear blocks you can line it up closely to where you want it.  If you are unsure eyeing it you could use the stamp-a-ma-jig.

On the other card I inked up the “in style” sentiment and stamped it with the “celebrate”. On each one I snipped the end to flag the end and then wrapped around some Linen Thread several times before adhering  small piece of Paper Doily behind the card strip. Then it was raised up on to the card using Dimensionals.

Here is a close-up of each of the cards for you to see.

WEEKEND STAMPING HAUL!

This past week I had a fun weekend with some of my stamping buddies.  These are great times just to sit and stamp and not be interrupted … and have a few laughs and eat too much!!!

I want to show you all my creative efforts for the weekend.  It still amazes me what you can put together with some ink and bits of card.  I plan to share details on the projects individually over the next couple of weeks so stay tuned for that.

group-cards

It was a mix of Christmas cards and general cards.  I think the project I loved most was the Beach House and the card.  It took some time put I was pleased with the end result.  It has shown to be popular on my Facebook page and other group pages I am on too.  I will tell you about that one soon.

The great thing when you get together with others too is sharing stamp sets that you don’t have yourself.  It’s great to make cards using those sets.

Now what will I share with you first????

See you again soon.

ELEGANCE WITH FLORAL PHRASES!

Have you seen the new Floral Phrases Stamps and the Detailed Floral Thinlits in the Catalogue?  They are just so gorgeous.  It makes elegant cards so easily.  I had a play with them yesterday and thought I would show you my creations.

These cards were inspired by 2 I had seen on a Facebook group I am on.  I love the new Dapper Denim Incolor too.  It just adds to the elegance. 🙂

Floral Themes _ 2

The Detailed Floral Thinlits cut so easily.  I then placed it on the Whisper White card mat so I could line it up to stamp on the white card. Then I could adhere it in place with the Fine Tip Glue and then to the Dapper Denim Card base. The stamped strip is in Sahara Sand.  The butterfly was stamped in Dapper Denim and is from the Papillion Potpourri set.

The Rhinestones add a little sparkle. I debated on whether to tie around some White Baker’s Twine but decided against it. When it was all stuck together though I realised that I should have done it and kept coming back to it.  In the end I added a small twine bow.

This second card was in Dapper Denim too.  This time I stamped the floral image and then added the “spots” in the Crumb Cake.  I wanted to keep the sentiment simple so I stamped the floral border in Crumb Cake on a piece of card strip and then stamped the greeting over the top.  This time I added some Pearls for glamour. I sponged the edge of the card too which softens it.

Here is the stamp set and the Thinlits if you haven’t noticed them before.  They are available to order from my store.

FAVOURITE 5 FOR 2015!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!!!

I hope 2016 is a wonderful year for you full of great health, happiness – and I hope lots of opportunities to create. 🙂

I am looking forward to another year of stamping. It always excites me at the start of the year when I think of the new discoveries in stamping and being able to share them with my lovely customers and  you my lovely readers. 🙂  I am also excited when I think of the new people I will meet to share all this creativity with.

Before I look too far forward though I thought I would look back at this past year at some of my favourite projects from the year.  I hope you will indulge me a little and enjoy recapping these – or seeing them for the first time.

I will add the link below each project to the original post so you can read about them.

Well those are my favourites BUT what did you think?

Here are some interesting facts from WordPress that you liked this year.

The most popular post in one day was my Convention Swaps on May 9th with 486 hits.  We are always interested in swap cards I think for their inspiration.

P1160597

This is just one lot of them. You can read the full post HERE.

The most popular post continues to be my Tote bags.  These were made in 2012 but are still so popular.

SPRINKLES OF LIFE WEEK!

I thought it would be fun to share some ‘Sprinkles of Life’ cards leading up to my Ronald McDonald House Fundraiser on the weekend.  I have been having a play with this set and the punch to make some samples. I have to say this is such a great set.  It is so versatile.  I hope to show lots of ways you can use this set.

Firstly,  this card I am sharing is a version of one shown at the South Pacific Convention back in late April.

P1170062

Now I have to say when I made this card I didn’t look closely at the colours used in the original.  I was looking at it today and I think I missed the point.  Every cloud has a silver lining …… but I stamped my clouds in Tip Top Taupe ???????  Seriously, what was I thinking!!! I think I was so excited to use the new Incolors and new products then that I just went ahead and made it.  When I stamped the greeting I stamped it once in the Tip Top Taupe and then in Smoky Slate and cut the “silver” out and adhered it over the top. That’s my silver!!! I embossed the Mint Macaron mat with the Fluttering Embossing Folder.  I think now I see this card again I will go and add some Dazzling Diamonds to the bottom of the clouds.  That will give it a “silvery” glow right?? 🙂

I have some more cards to share so stop by again soon,

Jenny

FAUX SHAVING CREAM BUTTERFLY!

A little while ago I shared the Faux Shaving Cream technique with you.  I showed everyone at our team meeting this week so beforehand I played around with a few other stamps using this technique.  I thought I would show you the card I made.

2nd faux shaving cream

There is quite a few new products on this card. Can you spot them??

I have used the set ‘Watercolor Wings’ and the butterfly was cut with the new Framelits, Bold Butterfly.  I have used 2 of the new Incolors Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush.  (I also used Pacific Point for this technique too).  The other stamp I used to create the honeycomb effect was from Butterfly Basics. The White card is embossed with the lovely new embossing folder ‘Fluttering’.  How gorgeous is this folder??  The greeting I have used here is from ‘Butterfly Basics’ which continued from our recent Occasions Catalogue.  See the centre of the butterfly?  I cut the smaller butterfly with the Bold Butterfly Framelits from regular old baking paper! How cool!  In the centre of the butterfly I added a Watermelon Wonder In Color Blossom Accents. I was really happy how this turned out.  You really have to play with a few different ink colours and different stamps to see what effect you get.

If you missed the post showing the Faux Shaving Cream Technique and want to have a go yourself, you can find that tutorial post HERE on my blog.

Thanks for visiting today.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend. 🙂

HAPPY 21ST WITH CELEBRATE TODAY!!

Yesterday was my niece’s 21st Birthday.  I can now show you her card since it is safely delivered. The pressure was on to do something different – and spectacular.  I came across this Pop Out Swing card by Julie Davison.  You can see that card HERE and the instructions are there too for you to make your own.

Here is my card using ‘Celebrate Today’ and the Balloon framelits.

P1160425

It took a little bit until I was happy enough with the swing and I think it is a card that you personally give to someone to show them how it works rather than sending it them in the mail.

Here is the front of the card.  The greeting was cut using the ‘Project Life – Cards and Labels’ die. A little glimmer always goes down well on a card too. 🙂  I cut the square from the centre of the front of the card using the Squares Framelits.

P1160423

You can’t tell by the photo but I heat embossed the 21st with silver embossing powder.  It gave it a nice shine. The 21st is from the set ‘Memorable Moments’ (soon to be retiring – have you got that set yet???).

I think it was well-received.  Happy 21st Megan. x

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend,

Jenny

ADVENTURE BOUND + HELLO YOU. GREAT FOR THE MALE CARDS!!

I just have to share these cards I made yesterday.  I am not great at making male cards.  Aren’t they hard to make???  The new Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stacks in the Occasions Catalogue makes creating them so much easier.  Actually there are a lot of great “male” sets in this catalogue.

P1150801

The prints in the stack are beautiful.  You really don’t need too much more with them on your cards.  I have used the new ‘Hello You’ Thinlets and the ‘Crazy About You’ stamp set with them and kept the embellishments very simple.  I was thinking of putting Candy Dots on them but didn’t get around to it.  I don’t think it needs them really.  I like the clean look.

Here they are individually.
