WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #93 – LAYERING THE POPPY MOMENTS DIES!

Wednesday’s WOW! #93.  Today we are looking at the Poppy Moments Dies.  These are lovely dies in the 2020 Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalogue.  There are so many dies and what do you do with them??

Today’s Wednesday’s WOW! is Layering the Poppy Moments Dies.  See how these flower dies work together.

You will find in these dies a number of flower shapes and leaf shapes.  They can work on their own or layer them together.  You can see in the image above how I have layered them.

There are a number of small flower centres too.  The really small leaf shape that you can use for the small “bud”, I have also used as a small leaf.  I showed that in the little tags in the previous post.

Below is the dies to see what they actually look like.  One die I haven’t shown on the image above is that small shape in the top left.  This diecuts the pattern in your card.  It doesn’t completely cut the card.  I will share that in another post to show you how it works.

Hope this is helpful for you when you come to use the dies.  PIN the image so you have it as a reminder next time.

Have a great day,

Jenny

FARMHOUSE CHRISTMAS CARD

The card above was made for my 12 Weeks of Christmas series but, well… I ran out of weeks to share it. It’s a great opportunity to share it with you now for my Christmas wishes to you.  Made with the Farmhouse Christmas Bundle which is sadly not being carried over, I wanted to show that you can use this set without having to colour it all the time.  I stamped the house a number of times over the Crumb Cake card base.  The paper is from Under The Mistletoe DSP.  You can stamp directly on to the silver Foil but remember to use Stazon.

While this card is very simple I deliberated on it for so long in how to work the sentiment.  Maybe an hour just on that. How many different ways could I work it. Seriously why can’t I just go with it!  It worked out in the end with just a strip of Real Red Satin Ribbon to finish. Which I should have just stuck with in the beginning.  Do you have days like that?? 🙂

Thanks for visiting,

Happy Christmas.

NATURE’S POEM CARDS FOR YOU!

I have my classes on this weekend using the Nature’s Poem Suite.  This has become a popular bundle for many people.  I wasn’t sure about it at first but I have recently got them so I thought I would share a few cards with you that I have made.

I have shared a few cards with this bundle before.  If you want to check on those be sure to click on the tag for “nature’s poem”.  Here is one post -> HERE to get you started on though.

Here are a couple more cards.

For this first one I stamped some of the leaves over white card to create a background.    I added a short length of the Burlap ribbon behind the oval sentiment and then added one of the diecut leaves stamped in Early Espresso.  I am really not sure of this though.  I think it is too heavy.  What do you think?

For this one below I was trying a few different things.  I liked the words separated.  I really like this sentiment. I know a few people who I could use this saying for.  If you notice the white background there are some embossed leaves on it.  In the Nature’s Roots Framelits set there are some leaves that don’t cut but emboss your card.  That’s pretty cool.

The rest of the card is fairly simple with a strip of the Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper, Grapefruit Grove twine and the tree stamped in Early Espresso and die cut out.

I hope you like them.

Thanks again for visiting me.  I love that you stop on by. Please visit again. 🙂

Have a great day,

Jenny

TWO 90TH BIRTHDAY!

I had the pleasure of making 2 special 90th Birthday cards the last couple of weeks.  I thought I would show you them.

This first one requested by a friend for a lovely old friend of hers.

I pulled out the Number of Years set and the Large Numbers Framelits for it.  The card was inspired by one on Pinterest.  The “90” needed something to lift it so I added a square cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits in Copper Foil and added a few loops with the Copper Thread. The sentiment is from the Blooms and Wishes set.

This next card I sent to a special lady.  I didn’t know her but I know what a milestone 90 is and I heard she was going to be having a very quiet birthday.  I couldn’t let this special milestone slip by.

I added a piece of the Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP to a white card base.  Cut a square with the Stitched Shapes Framelits in Vellum to sit the silver “90” on.  It’s hard to adhere vellum so I added a couple of dabs with Snail Adhesive under where the numbers would sit. Then sentiment is from Happy Birthday Gorgeous.

Two special cards for 2 lovely ladies.  I hope they had a lovely celebration in the end.

Have a wonderful week.

A DAISY MAKE AND TAKE!

This past weekend I was at a Craft Show with my Stamping buddy Leonie.  I love meeting people and sharing stamping with them.  It is lots of fun to share in their excitement and joy when they discover new things.

I thought I would show you the make and take we did at our stand.  We focused on the Daisy Delight Bundle. I am so glad that is available again.

This card was CASED from Julie Davison on Julie’s Stamping Spot. I couldn’t locate this exact card on her blog. I originally found it on Pinterest and it didn’t link back to the exact post.

The card is a very simple one but I think effective and uses the Daisy Delight Stamp set, the Daisy Punch and the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper.  You can find all of them on Page 127 of the Annual Catalogue.  I changed the sentiment to Happy Birthday which is from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous set for the make and take.

This is the Bundle if you can’t get to see it in the Catalogue.

Now it’s back make sure you grab it in my store -> HERE now.

I have lots of cards using this bundle that I will share with you this week so be sure to check in.

See you tomorrow,

Jenny

CRAFT ALIVE REVIEW!

All of a sudden it is Thursday!  Where has this week gone to?  I have had every intention of getting back here to share our exciting weekend at the Craft Alive Fair but there has been so much happening.  So here we are today.

Craft Alive is a big Fair of papercraft and needlework exhibitors held in various large centres on the East Coast of Australia.  I am so excited it has now come to Wollongong AND we got to have a stand there this year.  I thought you might like to see our little display.  It was such fun to share in this with my stamping sisters Leonie and Vanessa.

This was set up day.  It took 5 hours to put together.  Such a huge day but we were so pleased with the final display.

20161013_150449

We had so many positive comments about our stand which was nice. We added stars on the space near the tree which I think just finished it off.

20161013_150237

We had 6 Lucky Draw prizes over the weekend which some lucky visitors received a stamp set and some lovely embellishments. Of course you have to have them under the tree.

The Make and Take card was very popular so I thought I would show you.  Everyone loved the Cookie Cutter set.  This card was Cased from Jillstamps.

Thanks for sharing in this with me. I still have more cards from our stamping weekend.  I might have to hit you hard with them all next week to catch up so stay tuned.

HOME SWEET HOME EXTENSION!

I showed you the little beach house yesterday. I have to show you this house though. When I started making these houses I thought they were cute but it would be good to be a little bigger. So the house underwent an extension.

Here is my extended version. I will explain the “how-to” below.

mint-macaron-larger-house

On this house I cut the house in Thick Whisper White and stamped the Hardwood Background stamp in Smoky Slate.  The roof is Mint Macaron and the windows and door frames are in Basic Gray.

I did cut the door out but I think next time I won’t worry about this.  It tends not to stay shut but then you could sneak one of those Hershey Kisses out! This size actually fits 24 Kisses in.

HOW TO EXTEND YOUR HOME SWEET HOME HOUSE:

1. Cut 2 house pieces from the Home Sweet Home Thinlits.  To save card you will only need to cut the front/back of the house section so the one with the peak leaving a small tab around each side. With the same colour card you will need 2 pieces cut at 10cm x 6cm (4″x 2 3/8″).  Score at 1cm and 7cm (Score at 3/8″ and 2 3/4″)

2. Stamp or decorate your pieces as you like before assembling.  Also, cut your door and windows. TIP: Before cutting your windows, mark a line in pencil across the card piece then line up the bottom edge of your window Framelit on the pencil line to be sure that the pieces are level.

3. Fold on all the score lines and assemble together. Consider where you want to be able to open your house to get the treats.  On mine although I had the door cut I had the bottom open.  I just used Glue dots to stick it together temporarily.

To assemble add your adhesive on the side tabs of the front and back of the house. I used Fast Fuse but you can use Tear and Tape or other adhesive. Adhere one side wall piece to the tab on the front of the house piece and one side wall to the other tab on the front of the house. Do this by lining up the top score line of the side of the house to the top of the tab piece if that makes sense. The bottom score line should line up with the bottom of the front tab.

Adhere the back of the house to the other wall piece.  If you wish to have the back opening then just add adhesive to only one tab.

4.  For the roof: Cut your card to 7 cm x 9cm.  Score 4.5cm. (2 3/4″x 3 1/2″ Score at 1 3/4″)

Emboss your piece with the Brick Embossing Folder checking that the “bricks” line up the right way on your card.  That is that they run across.  Line up the score line of the card with an edge of the brick wall.

Place adhesive to the top tabs of the front/back house piece and also on the top tab on the side walls.  Line up the “roof” piece with the top of the house and adhere together.

5.  Now decorate to your little hearts content.  🙂  The options are endless really.  With this size you can fit so many treats.  As I had mentioned I was able to fit 24 Hershey Kisses. Unfortunately I didn’t have any Ferrero Rochers on hand.  That would be interesting to see how many can fit.  That’s for another day. 🙂

Have you been making Tiny Houses?  I would love to see them.  Why not drop me a comment with a link for us all to check out.

Thanks for visiting.

Have a great weekend.  It’s a long weekend here so I am not sure what is in store.

GOLDEN BUTTERFLY!

I wanted to share this special card with you.  I made this yesterday for my beautiful daughter Carlie who was confirmed last night.  It is a special day for her as she publicly declares her faith.  I am proud of the beautiful young lady she is becoming.  Just like an emerging butterfly ……. (is that a bit corny??)

Here is the card.  Initially I was CASING a card from Pinterest but it took a different direction.  Sometimes that happens. 😉

butterfly

The centre flowery image is from ‘I Think You’re Great’.  I haven’t used that stamp set in a while.  I was looking for a flourish type stamp in my collection and saw this set and thought I would dust it off.  I inked it first in Blushing Bride and then sponged the centre with Watermelon Wonder.  Then I stamped it on the Whisper White card.  I had already gold embossed the Congratulations (from ‘Timeless Love’) on the card as I was going to do something else, so I was really nervous doing this BUT hey, it’s just card right.  We can just try again. 🙂  I cut the butterfly from the Butterflies Thinlets in Gold Foil Sheets.

I adhered it to a Thick Whisper White card base to keep it crisp and fresh.  It just needed some gold sequins on it to finish I think.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful day in your part of the world.

CRAFT FAIR MAKE AND TAKE!

Now that I have shared a lot of the projects that I have made for the markets and Fairs I thought I would show you the Make and Take I had at the last Craft Fair event.  It had to be quick and I hope impressive??  I made a quick tag. Of course with the very beautiful set ‘Wonderland’.

P1170790

This tag was inspired by one from my friend Vanessa.  Simply stamp the trees in Garden Green on a piece of White cardstock and stamp again to stamp a fainter impression.  Tear a piece of the Winter Wonderland Vellum Stack to adhere at the bottom.  Punch out a small star with the Gold Foil and add a Rhinestone.  At the top punch with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch and tie off some Garden Green Striped ribbon.

It was a simple one for even those who had never stamped before and they loved it. I don’t think you can make a bad project with this set really. Can you??

Did you realise that this set will not be available after January 4th?? You better grab it now. Don’t regret it.  Now how many times have you debated about a stamp set and then after it is gone you realised you REALLY SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT!!!! Don’t regret this one.

Order it at my Online Store NOW!  Head HERE.  Please use the Host Code: DRVPX7DB

Now before I leave you I thought I would show you my display at the last Fair.  We were all squashed in but that was OK right??  This set up was similar to most of the events I have done recently.
