3D projects, Christmas

Latte 12 weeks Header

We have another project in our 12 Weeks of Christmas series today. This project is brought to you by Narelle.   Check this project out for your Christmas entertaining.  This is a lovely Table Setting.

christmas setting

This table setting consists of a cutlery bag, a bonbon and a name place card.  I think these would really dress up your Christmas table and make it something special.
Here are some photos of the individual items and also some videos showing how to make the key components. For full instructions and a complete list of supplies, please email me for a detailed pdf.

cutlery bag

I just love this Cutlery Bag. I know you could just put the cutlery on the table next to the plates, but that would be boring, right ? Making this bag gives you a reason to create and show off a little to your guests. I am sure they will be appreciative of the effort you went to and the table will look so festive and special.

Here are a couple of videos showing you how to make the rosettes.

bon bon

Bon Bons are a fun thing to have at Christmas time aren’t they?? The cute hat and funny jokes and the little novelty inside. But once they are pulled apart they are thrown away. With these Bon Bons not only are they a lot of fun but they will look pretty having them on the table. The bonus of these is that you can fill them with wrapped chocolates or something as an extra treat, and the guests get to keep them as a memento of a wonderful gathering with family and friends.

Here is a video how you can make them.

name place card

Can you see this on your Christmas Table this year?? It would make all your guests feel pretty special.

cards, Stampin' Up!

I think this set from the new Occasions Catalogue is going to be very popular.  Don’t you love this big swirly ‘Happy Birthday’?? I stamped this in Black Stazon on some of that free ‘Sweet Sorbet’ DSP that you can pick up during Sale-A-Bration.  Gotta love FREE DSP!!! LOL  I layered this on Raspberry Ripple card base and Summer Starfruit mat.  I added some little banners from the set ‘Banner Blast’ in Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals and Summer Starfruit.  Now this set also has a co-ordinating punch to cut those little banners.  No hand cutting!!! These are another free choice with Sale-A-Bration.  So many choices!!

I added the little cupcake from the stamp set ‘Another Great Year’.  How cute is this.  I punched it out with the 1 1/4″ circle and then layered it on a 1 3/8″ circle in Raspberry Ripple.  I have a close-up.

Now don’t look too closely at the colouring.  I coloured the cupcake with the Aquapainters and inkpads.  I didn’t realise how bad it was until I saw this photo.  Sorry about that.  I wanted to show you the sparkle though on the icing.  Does it look good enough to eat???

Have you checked out the new Catalogue and Sale-A-Bration brochure yet??? You can view it online in the link in the right hand column  OR do you want your own copies to drool over?? Drop me a message and I will get one in the post ASAP.

Until next time, Happy Stamping.

Stamp At Home Kits

I am excited.  From today I am going to start offering ‘Stamp At Home’ Kits for you.  Life gets busy and I have had so many people say to me that they would love to come to classes but the times don’t suit, or they are just too busy, or  they would love to create at home but they don’t know where to start.  SO, let the class come to YOU!!!

These “Stamp At Home’ kits contain all the card cut, the embellishments and step-by-step instructions to create 6 cards (2 each of 3 different designs).  You use your own stamps, ink and adhesives.  I suggest stamps and colours that you can order separately if you wish.

Last week I was invited to a 60th Birthday.  I was really quite honoured to be invited.  It is nice when the people who are your customers become good friends and you are included in such special occasions.  So, I had to make a special card.  I had been tossing around a few ideas for a couple of weeks and then finally a few days before the party I managed to put something together.

I created a paper Medallion from the Quatrefancy Specialty DSP (see below how to do this), and I added a silver ’60’ cut using the ‘Timeless Type’  alphabet dies (retired).  This was layered on 1 1/4″ circle punched in Island Indigo.  The whole piece was a centre-piece on the front of the card stamped with the large image from Daydream Medallions in Island Indigo.  I then added tails with some Pool Party Seam Binding ribbon.  The greeting is from ‘Perfectly Penned’ and then I added a little butterfly cut using the’Beautiful Wings’ Embosslits in Pool Party to finish it off.

How did I make the Medallion??

There are a few blogs out there with instructions but I found the most helpful was a video by Dawn Olchefske.  You can view it here.

Basically it is taking a strip of your DSP (which is 30.5cm long or 15″).  You score your strip every 1.2cm or 1/2″.  If you use your paper Trimmer you just line your paper up and score every 1/2″ and move your paper along and keep scoring.  It is a lot easier to use the Simply Scored.  Line the paper along the top edge and score down every 1.2cm or 1/2″.

Once you get to the end, then flip your paper strip over keeping the same edge of your paper along the Left Hand side of your Simply Scored (or Paper Trimmer).  Now you will score every  6mm or 1/4″.  Then concertina fold your strip all the way.  Add sticky strip to one end and join the strip into a circle.

Punch a circle from 1 1/4″ cardstock and add Sticky Strip or Hot Glue over the circle.  Gather up your Concertina ring into a medallion shape evenly spreading the folds out and then place your punched circle with adhesive face down on to the centre of the medallion.  This is where you need extra hands sometimes!!!!!  This is the back of the medallion.  Then turn your medallion over and decorate as you like.

There you go.  Add a medallion (or paper rosette) to your next special card.

3D projects

I have had the Boutique Boxes Kit since the Seasonal Catalogue came out.  I put some together a few months back and then I was so busy with Convention Swaps that I didn’t get back to them.  The other day I was pacing the floor waiting for the delivery man with my preorder (yes, you can relate to that!) and saw them sitting in my craft room.  I thought it was time I got back to finishing them before I started on new projects.  You can find the Boutique Boxes Designer Printed Kit on p25 of the Seasonal Catalogue and it only $13.95.  There are 8 die-cut boxes in the set you assemble (very easily with 1 piece of Sticky Strip). There is also a sheet of paper die-cuts,  Crumb Cake Twine and some buttons.  Everything you need to assemble them!

Boutique Boxes

You will notice there are only 7 here.   Ok, I really stuffed one up and that was filed nicely in my recycling bin. 🙂

On these I used a lot of the embellishments in the set but there was still some over you could add to cards.  I added a Paper Lace Doily on one and Summer Starfruit Scallop circle but you could easily do without them.  These are an ideal size to give a Gift Card in or something small like that. Remember there is only a couple of weeks left of the Seasonal Catalogue so if you want to get any of these products then grab them soon.

Thanks for stopping by.  My Delivery Man arrived.  I have varnished my wood Blocks and need to get creating!!

I realised I hadn’t shown you this card.  I made this quite a few months ago.  I think it got filed away with the busyness of Christmas, Sale-A-Bration and Seasonal Catalogue.  Here it is now for you.

I was playing around with some new products at that time – Raspberry Ripple and Summer Starburst Incolors.   I even broke out my Daydream Medallions set!  I think this was the first time I used Papillion Potpourri too.  On the butterfly I stamped it in Raspberry Ripple and used the Aquapainter to pick up some ink from the inkpad to lightly colour it.  I layered the butterfly on a Whisper White Circle which I had embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  You can’t see in the photo but I stamped a smaller medallion from Daydream Medallion on the Summer Starburst card with Illuminate ink.  It gives it a nice shimmer. The greeting is from Curly Cute and stamped in Raspberry Ripple. I used some Raspberry Ripple Stitched Satin ribbon to finish it off.  I really liked the finished result.

Thanks for visiting me today.  Stop be again soon.
