EASTER BASKET AND SLIDER BOX!

With all the excitement of Sale-A-Bration ending I forgot to share these cute treat holders for Easter.  It might be a bit late for this year but maybe you could use these for another occasion or file it away for Easter next year.

I was looking at Easter treat holders a few weeks ago. I came across THIS cute basket created with the Window Box Thinlits.  I thought I would create one in the funky Lemon Lime Twist colour. What do you think?  I probably should have added some eggs but … you get the idea anyway.

The sweet Daffodil flowers are from the You’re Inspired set and coloured with the Stampin’ Blends.  To make your own mini basket head to the link just above.

The next little treat holder is a Slider box.  We made a version in class last week.

I don’t have a lot of Easter sets but I thought the stamps from Swirly Bird set would make a cute Easter decoration on it and I added a swirly diecut from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits. The sentiment is from You’re Inspired.  It is a cute little box that would fit 5 small chocolate eggs in it or another type of small chocolate.  The wrap around is using the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper.

This is the version we made in class.

You can find out how to create your own Slider Box -> HERE.

Have a Happy Easter to you all and God Bless,

Jenny xx

I realised I had never posted this tag.  I made this tag the same time I made the Z-Fold card above. It was just a simple tag and I didn’t bother sharing it. I shared it on a group I am on though and someone Pinned it to Pinterest. It has now been repinned 5,700 times!  Sorry you missed out on seeing it. 🙂

SCALLOP EDGE BORDER WITH THE BEST BADGE PUNCH!

I have just posted about my tags I made for team swaps and then I realised I hadn’t told you about the scallop edge on the tags.  Never mind you get a second post from me. 🙂

Just to show you the tags again and have a look at the scallop edge at the bottom.

swirly tags

It’s a bit hard to see in this photo but maybe this photo is a little clearer.

I recently discovered that you could create a scallop edge using the Best Badge punch.  I loved that idea and maybe I bought the punch just for that reason. 😉

This is the punch if you haven’t noticed it in the catalogue.

best badge punch

So how do you create the scallop edge with it??  Well, I haven’t got a video for you but I have some photos to help you.

Firstly, with the scallop edge of the badge punch line the bottom curves of the scallops up with the bottom edge of the cardstock and then punch.

Scallop edge

Move the punch along the cardstock so you line up the last scallop you punched with the scallop on the punch.  Then line up the bottom of the curve on the next scallop with the bottom edge of the cardstock like you have done previously.  Then punch.

scallop edge 1

Continue moving along the length of your piece of card.  This particular one was only narrow so there are not too many scallops to punch but it gives you an idea.

Does that help?? I hope so.  It’s great when you can get more use from your punch than what you originally thought.

Thanks for visiting me again.

PINWHEEL TAGS TEAM SWAPS!

I have been on a roll with the Pinwheels lately using the Swirly Bird set.  I needed to make some swaps for our team meeting last night so I decided to make up some quick tags with them.  WELL….. That was the plan.  These tags took hours.  Nothing was going right yesterday.  I was getting ink everywhere, I was cutting things wrong!!! Do you have days like that?  Anyway, I got them done.

swirly tags

I made a few variations of them and a number of each. For the colours on the Pinwheels they are from left: Wild Wasabi and Emerald Envy; Sweet Sugarplum and Peekaboo Peach; Blushing Bride and Peekaboo Peach; Sweet Sugarplum and Elegant Eggplant.  I used some scraps of the Playful Palette DSP stack too.  (I am on a mission to use all of my DSP!).

The white card measures 13cm x 5cm (5 1/8″ x 2″) but you can make them any size you like.  These will fit on a card front to make a full card.  I rounded the tops with the Corner Punch.

The sentiments are from ‘Thoughtful Banners’.  I punched them out using the Classic Label Punch.  It’s cool that you can punch them different ways to create different effects. I coloured the Rhinestones with a black sharpie.

I got there in the end.  I hope you like them.  🙂

SOME MORE SWIRLY BIRDS!!

I have some more Swirly Bird cards to show you today.  This is such a fun set. Have I told you that before 😉

Here they are. These first 2 cards we made at our Swirly Bird class along with others I had already shared. These cards were inspired by ones I had seen on my internet travels.

On this first one, the sentiment is from ‘Butterfly Basics’ and the clouds are from ‘Sprinkles of Life’.  The base card is Dapper Denim with the kite stamped in Dapper Denim and Real Red.

This next one, the card base is Chocolate Chip.  This is a colour I haven’t used in AGES!!! I even dragged out the inkpad! This made a cute image of mummy bird and her eggs.  The sentiment is from ‘Thoughtful Banners’. The background spots are stamped in Soft Sky. This card is fairly simple looking but it did take some time to cut and to put together.

Swirly Bird _ bird

What about a Christmas Swirly card?  Yes I made a Christmas card!  I couldn’t help it.  I wanted to show the versatility of this set at my class. This card was CASED from Beth on a Facebook group I am on.  I just made it into traditional Christmas colours.  I added some dazzle with the Dazzling Diamonds in the centres of each bauble too.  The sentiment for this is from ‘Wondrous Wreath’.

Swirly Christmas

So many ideas for this set.  What have you come up with?? I would love to see them.  Send me a photo and I will share them here on my blog.

Thanks for stopping by.  Today it is FREEZING!!! Is it Summer soon???

Have a great day wherever you are,

Jenny

SWIRLY BIRD PINWHEELS!

I have been having fun making samples with the Swirly Bird stamps and Swirly Scribbles Thinlits ready for my Swirly Bird Class tomorrow.  I just finished this card today and had to show you now.  I really liked how it turned out. I saw an idea for a type of pinwheel using it somewhere, I think on a group I am on??  So I thought I would have a play and see what I could come up with.  I wasn’t sure how it would work at first.  Here is the end result.

Pinwheel Swirly Bird

What do you think?  Pretty funky?

It’s a simple card in itself.  The colours for the pinwheels are from the top right: Emerald Envy and Wild Wasabi; Dapper Denim and Tempting Turquoise; Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo and Peekaboo Peach and Tangerine Tango. I only realised as I got to the last one that I was using the new Incolors. 🙂  The “spots” from the stamp set and stamped in Daffodil Delight.  The sentiment is from ‘Guy Greetings’.  I went through all my stamp sets and thought this font really suited.

The Rhinestones were coloured with a Black Sharpie to add to the centres.  The white card was then adhered to a Basic Black mat and the base card is Tangerine Tango.

These pinwheels were really fun to do and being a clear set you can see through the block to line up each stamp.  I stamped the shape running across lengthways first and then inked the stamp again and flipped it to run across the other direction.  Then inked the other colour and stamped  to line up the long edge with the shorter edge already stamped if that makes sense?? I think I will have to try some more cards with these pinwheels!

Go and make some funky pinwheels for yourself.  Of course, you need the Swirly Bird stamp set to do this.  If you haven’t already got it and the Swirly Scribbles  Thinlits you better buy it.  This is such a fun and versatile set.  Get it as a Bundle and save 10%.

STAMPIN’ UP! CATALOGUE LAUNCH – PART 2!

I have some more of the fun from my Catalogue Launch for you.  If you missed out on the first part then head back to the last post I did.  Today I want to share with you some of the stamping fun we had.

The table all set up ready to go.  I was pretty excited with the Pom Pom Flowers I found that was a fairly close match to some of the new Incolors.

Table

This was a sample of some of the new products and some cards.  I had other new products in the Product Playground that I showed in the last post.

sample table

I had some Swirly Bird card samples to share.  I have a class this coming Saturday just with the Swirly Bird stamps and the Scribbles Thinlits.  That should be a lot of fun.

Swirly Board

This was the first Make and Take using the new Flourish Thinlits.  I love the delicateness of these dies.  I found they cut surprisingly easy even with just the regular platform.  I used the new ‘Playful Palette’ DSP stack too.  The sentiment is from the new set ‘Best Birds’.

Flourish _ Peekaboo Peach

The other Make and Take was using the new Dapper Denim Incolor.  I have used the ‘Thoughful Banners’ stamp set. These banners are so easy to punch with the Duet Banner Punch.   I stamped a background on the base card with the Timeless Textures stamp set. The colours of the stripes were from the top – Night of Navy, Dapper Denim, Island Indigo, Marina Mist and Soft Sky.  I cut a scallop square mat for the white stamped card piece with the new Layering Square Framelits.  It just gives a subtle peek of the silver Foil. This card was inspired by a card I saw on a Facebook group I am on.

So lots of fun was had by all my lovely ladies who came.  I appreciate each and every one of them.  If you are local make sure you come along to my next launch or class to enjoy the fun.

Thanks for stopping by,

STAMPIN’ UP! CATALOGUE LAUNCH!! PART 1.

This week I had my Catalogue Launch for this fantastic new catalogue.  I had 2 sessions. One Friday night and one on Saturday.  Both of them were lots of fun and laughs and of course creating.  I thought I would share some of the fun with you.

Firstly,  I had a Product Playground area with lots of new products that everyone could have a play with.  This was very popular.

Playground sign

Here we had an Incolor bookmark they could make.  A great way to have a sample of the new Incolors for their catalogue.  Then they could use the Ombre Ink pads.  This one is the Bermuda Bay.  I will tell you about the Ombre Inkpads in another post.  They could stamp the flower and add it to a card when they get home.

Playground_1

Of course we had to play with Baby Bear.  I had done a few different colour combinations to show and they could stamp their own Baby Bear.  He (or she) was very popular!  I will tell you about Baby Bear in another post too.:)  I also had the new embossing folder ‘Floral Affection’ which is really lovely too.  So many nice new products.

Playground _3

Now I like to spoil my lovely ones who come.  There was some fun gifts and some very useful product gifts.

I made up some Catalogue Survival Kits. To help everyone through their catalogue.

Survival Kit

I found these fun Post-It notes and made up these cards for everyone so they can add them to their catalogue. For the header on these Post-It note cards I created the heading on the computer and then stamped around it with the ‘Swirly Bird’ stamp set.

Post it notes

I have so much Designer Series Paper and ribbon and bits from past years so I bagged up a lot to give a special grab bag to everyone.  I think everyone thought it was Christmas. 🙂  It was a lovely way to say Thanks to them not just for coming to my launch but for their loyal support many for some years.  It was so lovely to see the joy in their faces.  That made the day all worthwhile.

Treat bag - 2

It wasn’t a fancy bag but these Stampin’ Up! Bags are a good size for the Designer Series paper – and I have so many of them!  I made a quick tag using the ‘Thoughtful Banners’.

Treat bag _ 1

I have some more photos to share with you but that will be next post so do come and visit.

Thanks for stopping by today,

Jenny

SWIRLY TIME!

Have you seen cards with the Swirly Bird stamps and the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits on your blog travels? These I think will be one of the top sellers for this catalogue.  I had a play with them the other day and thought I would share them with you.  These cards were inspired by others I had seen on Pinterest using a different stamp set.

These first 2 cards use the Emboss Resist technique.  I love the magic of heat embossing still even after all these years.  Heat Embossing was the first thing I had seen in stamping and I was just amazed.  I still love pulling out the heat tool. 🙂

Anyway, to the cards.

swirly _ emboss resist

I stamped the sentiment first in black.  This is from the set ‘Birthday Blossoms’. I then stamped the large swirl in versamark and heat embossed it.  Then sponged over the ink. The one on the left is Sweet Sugarplum. The one on the right is Peekaboo Peach.  Then I stamped the small flower in black.  The card is matted on to black card and then to the base card either Sweet Sugarplum or Peekaboo Peach.

swirly flower

This next card I was creating a flower with the swirls.  I stamped the large swirl in Sweet Sugarplum on to the Whisper White card and then cut swirls from the Sweet Sugarplum and the Emerald Envy. I added a Metal Rimmed Pearl to the centre. The sentiment on this card is from the new set ‘Mixed Borders’.

I added some strips of Emerald Envy card under the stamped white piece and then adhered it to the Sweet Sugarplum card base.

I can’t wait to play with this set some more.  Not enough hours in the day. 🙂

If you love the look of this set then you can buy your own at my store.  Buy the bundle and save 10%.  Head directly HERE.   Here is the stamp set and the thinlits for you to see.

Have a great weekend.  It is a long weekend here for us this weekend. Time for more creating then maybe?? I hope so.
