HUNG WITH CARE STOCKING CARDS – AND A WINNER!

I think this stamp set hasn’t had much airing around the blogosphere.  That’s a bit sad.  It is a cute one. Hung With Care is a Host set found in the Holiday Catalogue.  I must say I haven’t used it near enough.  Today I thought it should have it’s turn in the limelight.

This first one uses the lovely All is Bright Designer Series Paper. You don’t need too much on the card when you use this paper.  The stocking is stamped in Garden Green.  For the sentiment I heat embossed that in white on black card and then punched it out with the Classic Label Punch.

This card was one from one of my Christmas Stamp A Stack Classes recently. The stocking was stamped in Garden Green and the white oval card was layered on to Silver Glimmer Paper. The Garden Green card mat was embossed with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder.  The Real Red Twine is retired.  I don’t usually use retired products in classes but I ran out of the thin Red Ribbon.  Adding a small strip of Under The Mistletoe DSP adds a little contrast to it.  Everyone did like making this card I think.  It’s nice when you can make up 3 of these cards in class in a hurry and they are ready to go.

WEDNESDAY’S WOW! #48 – WAYS WITH THE TIN TILE EMBOSSING FOLDER!

I have been using the Tin Tile Embossing Folder a lot lately.  This Embossing Folder is so popular every time I use it in class too.  Everyone loves it.  You don’t have to just run it through the Big Shot with  a piece of card in the folder, Why not try some other cool ways to use it.

I found this video from Stampin’ Up! with a great tip for getting the best impression on your card but also some other fun ways to take your embossed card that extra step. So today for Wednesday’s WOW! #48 we are looking at ways you can use the Tin Tile Embossing Folder.  I have a card below that I had actually used this idea on it before I even saw this video so be sure to look below.

I have to say I have yet to try embossing the Foil Sheets but don’t they look just gorgeous.  (adding to my list to do …)  And they looked so spectacular lightly sanding them and inking over them in parts as it showed in the video.

I like the card inked too after it has been embossed with the folder, but sponging over it with the Shimmer Paint does take the card to the next level.  I shared that video a few weeks ago of how to do that.   You can see that video -> HERE.

I will share the shimmered card piece again for you here below.

Using the idea of adding the Shimmer Paint to your embossed card we used that on one of our cards for the Shimmer Class last week.  Everyone just loved this too and we dragged out the good and faithful set Lovely As A Tree.  It’s been a while since we have used this set but it never gets dated.  It lends itself to so many occasions and techniques. NOTE: If you don’t have this set yet do yourself a favour and grab it.  You can order it in my store now -> HERE.

Here is the card we made.  Using the Copper Shimmer Paint we lightly daubered over the embossed card in places to add some shine.  Just a note too.  For the tree we daubered over some Copper Shimmer directly on the stamp.  We also did that with the Sentiment which is from the Host Set Hung With Care.

So now you have some important items you need to be sure to get:

Tin Tile Embossing Folder, Shimmer Paint, Lovely As A Tree.  Head to me store now to grab them. (link above)

Have fun with it.  Thanks for visiting me.

A LITTLE COPPER FOR COLOUR INKSPIRATIONS #42!

With a long weekend last weekend I had a little extra time.  So I got to play along with this week’s Colour Inkspirations Challenge #42.

Here are the colours. How pretty!

This is the card I came up with.  I have to say I took note of the colours and then went and made the card.  Afterwards I realised it was Copper Foil not just Copper. Just as well I added the Copper Foil mat at the end. Phew!  This was the card I was showing in yesterday’s Wednesday’s WOW! video too with showing how to apply the Copper.

As I showed in the video I swiped some Copper Shimmer with a Sponge Dauber across the Mint Macaron card mat that I had embossed with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder.  On the white card I stamped the leafy spray from Wishing You Well in Mint Macaron and added some “dots” from the Timeless Textures set.   For the bow I daubered over some Copper Shimmer and then hand-cut it out.  This was raised up with Dimensionals.  I adhered the white card to the Copper Foil mat.  (TIP: to save your foil cut a square out from the centre to use on a different project.  You don’t notice it under the card piece).

For the sentiment I heat embossed that with white Embossing Powder on black card and it was cut with the small banner in the Bunch of Banners Framelits.  Of course more copper with some Copper Thread loops under the banner.  Lots of Copper on this card.  To finish I added a Mint pearl from the Artisan Pearls.

Thanks for visiting today,

GORGEOUS GRAPE AND LEMON LIME TWIST – WHAT A COMBINATION!

I have been using the Wishing You Well set  lately and it is one we used at my Holiday Catalogue Launch last weekend.  I made a few samples which I will show you over the next few days.

When making these cards I discovered a new Colour combination which is becoming a favourite. I have seen these 2 colours paired together quite a bit over the internet recently and I just had to try it myself.  How bright and fresh are these 2 colours, Lemon Lime Twist and Gorgeous Grape.

The Gorgeous Grape card is embossed with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder (which I think I adhered wrong again!).  This Wishing You Well set is one of the Distinktive style sets.  This means it gives different opacities to the stamped image creating depth to your image.  It gives a very effective result without too much stamping.

I simply stamped the leafy stem once with the Lemon Lime Twist onto white card.  This was then cut with one of the Layering Oval Framelits.  I could have layered the oval on to a different piece of card but instead I sponged around the edge of the oval.  The sentiment was stamped on Lemon Lime Twist card and cut with a Framelit from the Farmhouse Framelits Dies.  I wrapped some Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon around the Gorgeous Grape card before assembling it to the base card.

It’s a quick card to put together.  Watch for more cards with this combination.  Why not try it yourself??

This is the Wishing You Well set if you haven’t noticed it in the Holiday Catalogue.  For $33 AUS for clear mount it is pretty good value and is a great set for any occasion, Thinking of you cards, sympathy, birthday and Christmas.  It covers all bases I think. 🙂

Have a great day,

Jenny

DETAILED DEER GLIMMER!

I have another card using the Detailed Deer Thinlits.  This card was another from out Shoebox Swap in our Team Stamp Day a few weeks ago.

This card was created and shared to us by Vanessa Webb.  Isn’t it an elegant one??

Detailed Deer Glimmer

The sentiment is from the Merry Christmas To All Bundle.  What about those Galvanised Buttons?  They have a country/rustic feel. The red trim on his neck is from the Suite Season Specialty Washi Tape.

I haven’t paid too much attention to the Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon which you can find on page 49 of the Holiday Catalogue. We don’t create for Halloween or Thanksgiving here so we tend not to focus on the later half of the catalogue.  This ribbon is really lovely though.  It is so soft – and very sparkly.  It works well for an elegant Christmas card too.  I may have actually bought some since making this card.  It is one of the ribbons in my Ribbon Share too. I just had to add it. (You can head back a few posts to see about that or you can email me to join in at jghayward@yahoo.com)

The background on this card is Merry Merlot cardstock that has been embossed with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder.  I rubbed over the card very lightly with some White Shimmer Paint with a Sponge Dauber.  It is just a subtle effect.  A scalloped Vellum Oval was adhered under the Reindeer too to finish.

Hope you like it.  Thanks for visiting me.  I have people from all over the world visiting me here.  It’s so lovely that the internet can join us together in our love of crafting.  Why not say Hello in a comment and let me know where you are visiting from.

ANOTHER FARMHOUSE CHRISTMAS TRUCK!

Yesterday I shared a card I made with the truck in the Farmhouse Christmas set.  I have another one to show you today.

Yesterday’s truck was coloured with the Watercolor Pencils.  This one I have coloured it with the Stampin’ Write Markers because I didn’t have the Real Red Blends at the time and I wanted it red. I have used the same Designer Series Paper as the previous card which is from the Under The Mistletoe pack and I added a strip of Copper Foil under the stamped piece. A red card mat was embossed with the new Tin Tile Embossing Folder.  It is a lovely folder.  I have to say, when I was assembling the card I accidentally put the adhesive on the front of the embossed piece and so stuck it down with the other side showing.  I don’t think it matters too much but it is different.

The sentiment is from one in the Farmhouse Christmas set and cut with the stitched rectangle in the Farmhouse Framelits. You don’t need to do too much with it but I did add some loops of Copper Thread behind it.

Hope you like this one?  Thanks for visiting.  I hope your weekend is going along great.
